
Quality Engineer, Advanced Hardware Manufacturing

As an experienced Quality Engineer in Advanced Hardware Manufacturing Operations (AHMO), you will develop systems, methodologies, quality processes, and best practices to guarantee high-quality products in line with standards, drawings, and specifications set in place by internal Engineering Teams. You will support projects developed by cross-functional teams where quality results, teamwork, and initiatives measure individual performance. A successful candidate must be driven and have the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail oriented, and be able to work independently. This position will report directly to the Sr. Quality Engineering Manager.
In this role, you will:
- Be the main point of contact between Program Management, Design Teams, Test Engineering, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing and Risk Management for hardware development, sustaining engineering, and failure analysis (i.e. LiDARs, cameras, complex electro-mechanical assemblies).
- Perform complex and multi-faceted failure and root cause analysis as part of the Non-Conformance and CAPA process in a high paced environment.
- Participate in Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and guide teams to create quality documents including detailed Quality Plan, Process Flow Diagrams, Process Failure Mode Analysis (PFMEA), Process/Equipment Validation, Inspection Reports, Dimensional reports, Functional Test Reports (FTR’s), Process Certs, Material Certs, Rework instructions, Temporary Deviation Orders (TDO’s), Packaging Reports, Part Submission Warrants (PSW’s) in various quality databases including Jira, RGBSI, 3DX, and other Internal Quality Logs.
- Develop Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In Process Quality Control (IPQC), and outgoing Quality Control (OQC) requirements and setting metrics for analyzing performance
- Play a fundamental role in supporting the setting up of procedures, instructions, and processes that will allow to align with the international standards for Quality Systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and similar).
Qualifications
- BS in mechanical, electrical engineering required (MS preferred)
- 6-8 years of hands-on experience in design or manufacturing quality
- Strong technical and analytical acumen of direct and deep experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive, semiconductor, Class II/III medical device, complex software controlled electro-mechanical capital equipment, or aerospace fields are preferred)
- Thorough knowledge of QMS and quality control fundamentals
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, decision-making, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a high paced environment
- Working knowledge of statistics (Minitab)
- Self starter
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in Lidar / Radar / Sensor / Camera / Complex electro-mechanical assemblies
- Experience working in a start-up environment and setting a QMS from scratch
Salary Range: $115,000-$125,000/K
The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
