
Senior Systems Engineer

Your Role
As a skilled Migration Engineer at Altera Digital Health, you will play a crucial role in executing large-scale datacenter and cloud migrations. Your expertise in VMware, Windows Server, and Microsoft Azure will be essential as you manage complex P2V, V2V, and disaster recovery projects, directly impacting the infrastructure that supports healthcare providers and patients.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Execute Physical to Virtual (P2V), Virtual to Virtual (V2V), and on-premises to cloud (Azure) migrations.
- Lead Azure Migrate projects through the full lifecycle: discovery, assessment, planning, and migration.
- Implement and manage Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions using Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
- Configure and manage VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter to support migration activities.
- Build, configure, and troubleshoot Windows Servers (2008–2022), including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Perform application and dependency mapping to ensure migration readiness.
- Collaborate with networking, storage, and application teams to ensure smooth migration cutovers.
- Develop and maintain clear documentation, including runbooks, rollback plans, and validation checklists.
- Transfer knowledge and provide post-migration support to operational teams.
What You'll Bring (Qualifications)
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter administration.
- Proven experience leading migrations with Azure Migrate and Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
- Deep expertise in P2V, V2V, and cloud workload migration processes.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across Windows OS, networking, and VMware platforms.
- Experience using PowerShell for automation and validation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with application-level migrations (e.g., SQL, IIS).
- Knowledge of Azure networking (VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute, VPNs).
- Familiarity with Azure governance, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and cost optimization.
- Relevant certifications such as VCP, MCSE, AZ-104, or AZ-305.
Working Arrangements
- This is a full-time position following a standard work week. You will need to be available to work during pre-planned migration windows, which may include nights and weekends.

Salary Range
$90,000 - $103,000 USD
