About The Role & Team

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. In this role, you will support the financial close process, financial reporting, and ad hoc projects as they arise. You will be responsible for key accounting processes and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will bring an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), proficiency with accounting systems, and a strong commitment to driving efficiencies. You excel at maintaining accuracy and attention to detail, thrive under tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively across teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

As a Senior Accountant on our team, you will: 

• Own and execute general ledger accounting activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies, supporting external audit requests as needed.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing financial statements and variance analyses
• Work cross-functionally with FP&A and other business units to support accurate financial reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
• Stay up to date with changes in accounting regulations and assess their impact on the company.

You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:

• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a SaaS or technology company.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally.
• CPA certification and Big 4 experience is a plus.

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $112,000 - $168,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)
