About The Role & Team
 
At Amplitude, Senior Solutions Engineers play a critical role in helping customers unlock the full potential of our platform. In this role, you’ll partner closely with our sales team to both land new enterprise and emerging enterprise customers and expand relationships with existing accounts as we rapidly scale.
 
You’ll guide product, data, and marketing leaders through technical and strategic discovery, helping them understand how to use Amplitude to build better, stickier, and more engaging digital products. From advanced behavioral analytics to robust A/B testing and experimentation, in-product guides and surveys, and our newest agentic AI capabilities—you’ll showcase the full power of our unified platform to solve real business challenges.
 
This is a consultative, customer-facing role where you’ll lead product demonstrations, tailor proof-of-concept engagements, and help position Amplitude as a strategic partner. You'll also have the opportunity to influence our roadmap, contribute to field and product marketing initiatives, and shape how we go to market. Solutions Engineer, you will:
  • Design and deliver world-class, storytelling-based demos, run pointed discovery sessions and own proofs of value of Amplitude’s solution.
  • Couple your product, data and analytics expertise to align Amplitude’s solution with enterprise customer pains.
  • Lead conversations with technical teams on topics such as data import, data quality, data governance and reference architecture
  • Work closely in your day to day with account executives, product development, engineering and customer success to ensure a seamless buying experience for our prospects
  • Advise prospects on their data strategy and growth stack architecture to ensure efficient and high-quality results
  • Provide guidance on preferred integration methods to technical stakeholders
  • Advise prospects on the kinds of data they should be collecting to produce their desired results
  • Scope and lead hands-on evaluations with prospects to inspire them and make them enthusiastic about using the platform.
  • Be an in-house expert in Amplitude’s product and stay up-to-date on product releases and new features, assist in training new SC team hires and hand off well-structured, use-case-based deals to our post sales teams
  • Enhance the Amplitude product roadmap forward by sharing product feedback and new requirements from the field back to our product management team
  • Travel to customer on-sites to deliver demos and to build strong customer relationships.
  • Support Amplitude at a variety of conferences, trade shows, and marketing events.
You'll be a great addition to the team if:
  • You have 5+ years of enterprise software experience including at least 3 years of pre-sales or solution engineering experience
  • Willing to travel up to 40% of the time
  • You have a clear understanding of the modern growth stack including data, messaging, A/B testing and, of course, analytics.
  • You have technical experience in tools using SDKs and APIs
  • You have an appetite for learning about the world of product development, digital marketing, behavioral analytics and data science
  • You are naturally technically curious.
  • You get energized when you give a demo that dazzles and inspires your prospect (and buries your competition)
  • You love sharing your winning strategies with the broader sales and solutions consulting community
  • You like to build strategies on how to address new markets and verticals
  • You get charged up by the idea of working with a high-performing, highly-collaborative, highly-communicative coworkers
  • Outstanding presenting skills to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos
This role is eligible for equity, benefits and other forms of compensation.

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Colorado. Colorado range: $170,000 - $255,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in New York City, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in New York City. New York City salary range: $189,000 - $284,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $189,000 - $284,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $170,000 - $255,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington state. Washington salary range: $170,000 - $255,000 total target cash (inclusive of bonus or commission)

Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington only: unlimited PTO, 10 to 13 holidays annually (will vary), medical dental and vision PPO and CDHP plans. Finally, a company sponsored 401(k) retirement plan.
