Anaplan is looking for a passionate Senior Product Manager to join the Platform Applications team to create and execute a vision and strategy to deliver Applications as part of the product offering. Reporting to the Senior Director, Product Management for Modeling & Applications, this person will be based in our London office in the UK, and will be instrumental in the execution of our product and company strategy. Applicants should have an extensive Product Management background and relevant industry experience in enabling Applications at Enterprise SaaS vendors.
As part of the platform applications team, you will be responsible for shaping the direction of the platform and go-to-market approaches to ensure the success of Anaplan Applications. You will define and implement comprehensive application standards, an extensibility and maintainability framework, and a roadmap for application maturity. The role will work closely with the Application Framework lead, who is responsible for the evolution of platform capabilities to enable native out-of-the-box Applications to be built, deployed, configured, and maintained.
This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of SaaS application landscapes, market dynamics, and emerging technologies. You should be a strategic thinker with an understanding of SaaS application architecture and platform extensibility. The role will be responsible for coordinating with the line of business Application teams for Finance & Workforce, Sales Performance, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment of application development, strategy, and go-to-market approach with the company’s overall product vision and platform strategy.
Your Impact:
- Define, maintain, and execute a platform strategy for applications that aligns with the company’s overall product vision and market goals. Collaborate with, influence, and manage expectations of key stakeholders and senior leadership to ensure a consistent and coherent strategy.
- Own Applications as a product offering, be the unifying voice for Platform Applications, and champion the evolution of the product and broader company to enable the vision and make applications successful
- Act as the central point of contact within Product for line-of-business application teams, facilitating collaboration, sharing of best practices, and operational cohesion. Collaborate with Product Management colleagues to ensure application needs inform platform development and vice versa, ensuring a seamless user experience across all applications
- Continuously analyse market trends and competitive landscape to guide the strategic direction of applications. Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that are consistent with the overall product positioning, and drive alignment across line-of-business application teams
- Define and evolve the implementation and extensibility methodology for Anaplan Applications ensuring scalability, consistency, modularity, and maintainability. Ensure alignment of the methodology with the Application Framework and overall product roadmap and vision.
- Collaborate with the broader applications product team and Anaplan partnerships team to define and implement a partner program that encourages application development, including the commercial considerations and commitments requirements for partners to become certified Application providers.
- Implement governance and certification frameworks and programs to ensure applications comply with design and build standards, across both Anaplan and partner-built applications.
Your Qualifications:
- Experience with Applications is a must
- Domain knowledge of Anaplan solutions, or relevant experience with planning and modelling tools
- Strong understanding of the product management lifecycle and launching new products
- Proficiency in gathering and analysing market and customer insights.
- Experience in creating and delivering go-to-market enablement material to drive consistency
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience influencing senior management and setting expectations for major cross-functional initiatives.
- Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a matrix environment where some key contributors may report into a separate functional area
- A passion for building communities and enabling people
- Bachelor’s of Science or related field
