Angi is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Manager of Indirect Tax to lead all aspects of U.S. sales tax and European VAT compliance and advisory. This role will be instrumental in managing global indirect tax risks, ensuring compliance, supporting business expansion, and driving process improvements across Angi’s operations.

What you’ll do

  • U.S. & Canadian Sales Tax Compliance & Strategy:
    • Oversee end-to-end U.S. and Canadian sales and use tax compliance across multiple states, provinces, and jurisdictions, including returns, payments, and audits.
    • Ensure proper application of taxability rules and nexus determinations.
    • Manage relationships with third-party sales tax software providers (e.g., Avalara, Vertex).
    • Monitor and interpret changing tax laws and proactively update internal policies.

  • European VAT Oversight:
    • Manage VAT registration, compliance, filings, and returns across key European jurisdictions in partnership with international team.
    • Collaborate with local advisors to ensure timely and accurate VAT reporting.
    • Advise on cross-border transactions, digital services, and invoicing requirements.
    • Support business initiatives in Europe from a VAT planning and risk mitigation perspective.

  • Audit & Risk Management:
    • Lead U.S. and international indirect tax audits and inquiries.
    • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve audit issues and minimize tax exposures.

  • Process Improvement & Technology:
    • Drive automation of indirect tax processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
    • Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Product teams to implement scalable tax solutions for new product offerings or systems upgrades.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Serve as the key tax contact for Product, Legal, Accounting, and International teams on indirect tax matters.
    • Provide tax guidance on contracts, pricing structures, and new business models.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Master’s in Tax preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive indirect tax experience, with strong knowledge of U.S. sales tax and European VAT.
  • Experience with tax automation systems (e.g., Avalara, Vertex).
  • Prior experience at a multinational corporation and/or Big 4 firm strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • The salary band for this position ranges $145,000 - $185,000 commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living. 
  • This position will be eligible for a competitive year end performance bonus & equity package.
