Workday Functional HRIS Specialist

Key Responsibilities
System Configuration & Maintenance:
- Serve as the primary functional expert for one or more Workday modules (e.g., Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Absence, Payroll, Security, Reporting).
- Configure, test, and deploy Workday business processes, security, and tenant setup based on documented requirements.
- Manage and prioritize incoming system change requests, troubleshooting, and resolving Workday issues (Tier 2/3 support).
Optimization & Process Improvement:
- Partner with HR stakeholders to analyze current HR processes and identify opportunities for optimization and automation within Workday.
- Lead the planning, testing, and deployment of Workday feature releases (e.g., bi-annual updates) and new functionality.
- Translate functional business needs into clear, technical system requirements.
Reporting & Data Integrity:
- Develop, maintain, and run standard and custom reports and dashboards using Workday Report Writer and other reporting tools to support HR, Finance, and leadership teams.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within Workday through regular audits, data uploads (EIBs), and quality control checks.
- Manage Workday security roles and permissions to ensure appropriate data access and compliance.
Project and Support Activities:
- Participate in all phases of the system life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing (unit, UAT), documentation, and deployment for system enhancements and new module implementations.
- Provide training and documentation to end-users and the HR team on system functionalities and process changes.
- Collaborate with the IT team on integration support and troubleshooting (e.g., EIBs, payroll integration).
Qualifications
Required
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of hands-on functional experience with Workday HCM configuration and administration.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Workday business processes, security, and at least one core module (e.g., Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation).
- Strong proficiency in Workday Report Writer, calculated fields, and reporting concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Workday Pro certification in one or more HCM modules.
- Experience with Workday Integrations (EIBs, Studio).
- Familiarity with HR processes and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
- Experience supporting other HR or business systems that integrate with Workday.
