About the Role: 

We are seeking a motivated Cloud Security Compliance Intern to support our security and compliance initiatives across cloud environments. This role provides hands-on experience in assessing cloud systems, supporting compliance frameworks, and helping ensure adherence to industry standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, curious about cloud security, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. 

We are seeking a motivated Intern (unpaid) to join our team. This unpaid internship program is tailored for engineering students seeking to enrich their academic learning with practical, hands-on experience in the field. 

 

Location: This role is office-based at our Bellevue, Washington office. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) for compliance with security policies and standards 
  • Support audits and assessments related to frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or NIST 
  • Help document security controls, processes, and procedures 
  • Participate in risk assessments and identify potential security gaps 
  • Work with security tools (e.g., CSPM, SIEM, vulnerability scanners) to analyze findings 
  • Assist in remediation tracking and reporting compliance status 
  • Collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams to promote secure cloud practices 
  • Stay updated on cloud security trends, threats, and best practices 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field 
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) 
  • Familiarity with security controls and compliance requirements (ISO 27001, CSA STAR, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, identity and access management (IAM), and encryption concepts 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Preferred Skills (Nice to Have): 
  • Exposure to security tools such as Crowstrike, Cloudflare, Micorost Sentinel, etc. 
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles and tools 
  • Understanding of how code deployment pipelines work (Azure DevOps, GitHub, etc.) 
  • Prior coursework or projects related to cloud security or compliance
