As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless deployment, real-time monitoring, and the efficient management of our critical systems in a highly compliant and regulated environment. You'll have the autonomy to explore and integrate emerging technologies, driving innovation and making key decisions that impact the future of our tech stack.
At Armis, you'll work with a complex system architecture that includes diverse data stores, a vast microservices environment with hundreds of services, and some of the highest security configurations in the industry. You'll be instrumental in managing and optimizing this intricate ecosystem, which processes massive amounts of data daily. Your expertise will help us maintain the highest levels of performance, scalability, and security, ensuring our infrastructure can handle the demands of our rapidly growing user base.
Success in this role means achieving unparalleled system uptime while enabling rapid, automated resource provisioning without compromising reliability or compliance. You will collaborate closely with developers, CISO, architects, operations, and product teams to deliver high-impact solutions that keep our systems robust, secure, and ahead of the curve.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and resilient production systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Collaborate closely with other senior members of the DevOps and Engineering teams to define architectural and operational aspects of our rapidly growing infrastructure.
- Identify and resolve issues in production systems.
- Oversee and enforce security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Research, evaluate, and lead proof-of-concept initiatives for new technologies to strengthen the development of secure, robust architectural components.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, industry peers, and professional associations to stay current with evolving technologies, standards, and cybersecurity threats.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, procedures, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
- Offer on-call support during off-hours (nights and weekends) to address critical incidents and ensure system stability.
REQUIREMENTS
- 5 + years experience managing and maintaining Linux servers in a global, multi-server, cloud environment is required
- 3+ years of knowledge in AWS required
- 5+ years in Python, Kubernetes required.
- 3+ years experience IAC Tools (Terraform and/or Cloud formation)
- Deep understanding of networking concepts such as route tables, service mesh, CNI, etc.
- Ability to own the entire SDLC for projects, including requirements/specifications gathering, coding, testing, hardening, packaging, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining.
- Extensive experience working with microservices and distributed systems
- Managing, maintaining, and migrating to a Zero trust architecture.
- Developing, automating and maintaining vulnerability & patch management solutions.
- Strong communication skills. Able to inform leadership and stakeholders, collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues, present concepts/solutions, articulate issues/risk, etc.
- Independently manage tasks and time, working as their own project manager to deliver on deadlines and plan accordingly.
Desirable multipliers:
- Government related projects requiring US citizenship
- Extensive involvement in security and/or compliance programs (FedRAMP, GDPR, SOC 2, etc)
- Working in sensitive/restricted environment (bunkered, FIPs, SELinux, etc)
Pay ranges $155,000 to $220,000
