Business Optimization & AI Architect
We’re building a lean, high-impact team focused on scalable automation and AI solutions. This role reports directly to the SVP of Data Strategy & Automation and plays a central part in identifying inefficiencies and designing solutions that remove manual lift from our business. If you're the kind of person who sees an Excel spreadsheet and starts writing Python in your head, you're in the right place.
We're not looking for a full-time developer, but for someone who brings a toolkit—APIs, scripting, automation platforms, LLMs, and more—to solve problems fast and scalable. Your job is to listen well, ask smart questions, and then build elegant tools that make work better for everyone.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Own the discovery, design, and delivery of automation and AI solutions across the business
- Write Python scripts, deploy background jobs, build internal apps, or call APIs—whatever solves the problem best
- Partner directly with operations, finance, marketing, and back-office teams to streamline repetitive work
- Evaluate and deploy AI tools where appropriate to accelerate output
- Manage development workflows, QA, and light DevOps for solution deployment
- Translate business requirements into scalable tools, often with little documentation or precedent
- Lead scoping conversations to define problem statements and success criteria before writing code
- Establish reusable frameworks and automation standards that can scale across multiple departments
- Provide technical mentorship to junior analysts and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
- Track project performance and continuously refine solutions based on user feedback and business impact
- Explore new technologies and evaluate build-vs-buy decisions with a critical, business-oriented lens
Education & Experience
- A problem-solver with 5-10 years of experience building internal tools, automations, or apps to reduce manual work
- Strong in Python/JS and comfortable using APIs, automation frameworks, and scripting to solve business problems
- Experienced with AI platforms or LLM APIs and understand their practical limits and applications
- Familiar with deploying and maintaining scripts or apps in a cloud environment
- Equally comfortable whiteboarding business logic with a stakeholder as you are debugging a failed script
- Thrive in ambiguity, ask smart questions, and bring clarity through execution
- Experience with SQL and common data structures
- Familiarity with Domo or other BI platforms
- Experience with no-code/low-code platforms
- Prior work in property management, real estate, or operations-heavy industries
- Exposure to front-end frameworks like React or working with full-stack app development
