How You Will Make an Impact:

The Health and Safety Analyst will be part of a small highly engaged team who works across all business lines and will support assigned projects/ customers in all matters related to health and safety data analytics.  Your mission is to focus on creating value by using internal and external resources and applications to compile, contrast and compare data sets and formulate that information into clear, focused, and professional presentation materials.

 Reporting to the Vice President of Safety and Risk and working alongside a team of Health and Safety experts, who have considerable expertise within the oil and gas industry; knowledge sharing forms the basis of all team activities – to drive performance and customer satisfaction.  Some travel will be required to customer site to understand data requirements, performing needs analysis, and presenting findings/results.  With no two projects alike – and no two days the same - your day will fly by, with an expectation that you will work at a faster than average pace.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage SDS hazardous material management system.
  • Provides analysis & monitoring of different safety programs, incident management, behavior-based observations, investigations, audits, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), using tools related to statistics, occupational health & safety, environmental sciences, economics/costing, etc.
  • Conducts analytical reviews and audits and trending safety reports; performs gap analysis and evaluates activity deficiencies.
  • Maintains records, reports, and documents required to meet corporate and regulatory requirements including injuries, near misses, environmental releases, training, etc.
  • Collects, registers, reviews, distributes, presents, and archives safety data, and prepares initial documentation for bid packages.
  • Conducts searches and computer research regarding safety regulatory issues and gathers industry wide safety related information.
  • Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and standards. Interacts with corporate safety team and other divisions.
  • Performs support functions for safety team (Staffing needs, miscellaneous calculations, organization of safety meetings).
  • Detail oriented individual with proven ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects concurrently and within projected deadlines.
  • Ability to offer creative solutions and resourceful problem-solving skills a must.
  • Fulfills pertinent miscellaneous duties/functions as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or finance, Business Intelligence Analytics, or Statistics
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in working in an analytical role where you have supported operations, health & safety, human resources, customers, and/or business development teams
  • Prior experience supporting safety functions in an Energy or Construction environment
  • Highly developed analytic skills with experience using ISNetworld and Veriforce.
  • Very good knowledge of commonly used analytic tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Pi, etc.
  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative techniques to develop performance reports and analysis of data
  • Aptitude to implement data-visualization tools to ease data comprehension
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication skills are required
  • Strong computer skills including solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products, (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are required
  • Advanced Excel knowledge needed including proficiency with formulas, pivot tables/ V Look ups.
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with multidisciplinary safety and operations teams and capacity to establish professional credibility with internal and external contacts.
  • Strong leadership ability actively motivates individuals and team members while contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
