Job Summary
Atwell is seeking a Survey Project Manager to support survey projects for midstream pipeline and oil & gas clients in the Oklahoma City, OK area. This role will be responsible for managing survey projects from initial planning and budgeting through execution, deliverables, invoicing, and project closeout.
The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of experience in a Survey Project Manager-level role, with a strong understanding of survey field operations, client management, project financials, and field crew coordination. Experience supporting midstream pipeline projects is strongly preferred. Experience in other markets such as power, civil infrastructure, renewable energy, utility infrastructure, power delivery, industrial facilities, or land development is a plus.
This position will be based in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area and will support projects through a mix of office, field, client-facing, and team coordination responsibilities.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Manage survey projects from kickoff through final deliverables, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, invoicing, and closeout.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, field crews, office technicians, and internal project stakeholders.
- Coordinate survey field crews, office staff, equipment, schedules, and resources to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient project execution.
- Track project performance, including budgets, labor utilization, forecasting, invoicing, change orders, and overall profitability.
- Review survey deliverables for accuracy, completeness, quality, and compliance with client requirements, company standards, and project scope.
Requirements
- 3+ years of Survey Project Management experience preferred, with responsibility for project execution, client management, schedules, budgets, and financial performance.
- Experience supporting midstream pipeline, oil & gas, route survey, utility, infrastructure, or related survey projects.
- Strong understanding of survey field operations, data collection methods, crew management, equipment utilization, quality control, and safety practices.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once while maintaining schedules, budgets, client expectations, and internal communication.
- Must be located in, or willing to relocate to, the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, with a valid driver’s license and ability to travel periodically for project and client needs.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting multiple market sectors, including Oil & Gas, Midstream Pipeline, Civil Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, Electric Utility, Power Delivery, Industrial Facilities, and Land Development.
- Working knowledge of boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, route, construction, as-built, utility, and control surveys.
- Experience developing scopes, cost estimates, proposals, schedules, resource plans, and change orders.
- Familiarity with survey data processing and software such as Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, GIS platforms, and related survey technologies.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor team members and promote accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
