About the role

The Principal, Product Analytics & Insights will lead Auctane’s enterprise-wide product performance measurement, insights, and reporting functions. This role will own the definition of product and business success metrics across our full product portfolio (ShipStation, ShipEngine, Stamps, Metapack, Packlink, and beyond). They will act as a senior leader bridging product, analytics, finance, marketing, and executive leaders—ensuring that decisions across all product lines are grounded in data, insights, and measurable outcomes.

This leader will drive Auctane’s product metrics and reporting at the executive and board level, guiding how we measure impact, forecast performance, and identify growth opportunities across our products. They will set best practices for data-driven product decision-making, standardize executive reporting, and ensure accountability to strategic goals.

The ideal candidate is a proven analytics leader with experience scaling product analytics and operations across multiple product lines, strong executive presence, and the ability to influence at the board level.

What will you be doing?

Enterprise Product Metrics & Business Impact

  • Define, standardize, and own key product and business metrics across all Auctane products—covering engagement, retention, monetization, and Product-Market Fit.
  • Establish a global product analytics framework to drive prioritization and investment decisions across business units.
  • Build portfolio-wide metric waterfalls and cohort models to evaluate user journeys, revenue expansion, and long-term volume impact.
  • Lead deep-dive analyses to uncover trends and risks, shaping portfolio strategy and identifying opportunities for cross-product synergies.
  • Proactively identify and quantify opportunities for revenue growth, engagement, and operational efficiency across products.

Executive & Board Reporting

  • Own Auctane’s enterprise product reporting to the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
  • Deliver compelling narratives that highlight business impact, customer trends, and opportunities for growth.
  • Partner with Finance and product leaders to align forecasting models with product roadmaps, investment strategies, and revenue planning.
  • Ensure dashboards, forecasts, and board decks meet the highest standards of accuracy, clarity, and executive readiness.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Serve as the primary bridge between Product, Finance, Marketing, and Engineering leaders to ensure alignment on measurement priorities.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to enhance data instrumentation and governance across platforms.
  • Define and drive enterprise-wide product targets and KPIs, ensuring teams are aligned on the metrics that matter most.
  • Influence product and executive stakeholders by translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.

Strategic Business Planning

  • Lead quarterly and annual forecasting of product metrics and business impact across Auctane.
  • Establish ROI measurement frameworks for product investments, ensuring clear accountability to business outcomes.

What are we looking for?

  • 10+ years in product analytics, operations, business intelligence, or related fields
  • Proven track record influencing executives and boards with data-driven insights.
  • Expertise in SQL, Python, or R; strong background in BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Amplitude, or similar).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate data into strategy for non-technical executives.
  • Deep knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and revenue analysis at the product portfolio level.
  • Strong background in A/B testing, cohort analysis, and experimentation frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills; proven ability to establish enterprise-wide standards and drive alignment across multiple teams and geographies.
