About the Role
Azurity Pharmaceuticals is a privately held specialty pharmaceutical company focused on innovative products that meet the needs of underserved patients. Within the ARGO franchise — our hospital-focused, targeted-delivery specialty business — we are preparing to launch D-PLEX100, a locally administered, extended-release surgical anti-infective for the prevention of surgical site infection.
We are seeking a Director, Brand Marketing to drive US HCP brand strategy and in-line marketing execution for D-PLEX100. Reporting to the Senior Director, Brand Marketing (D-PLEX100 brand lead) within the ARGO franchise, this individual leads day-to-day brand operations for the hospital and surgical setting — developing and executing campaigns, messaging, and materials, managing agencies, and supporting launch readiness. D-PLEX100 is an inpatient, DRG-reimbursed product whose adoption is governed at the account level by institutional Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) committees, so HCP demand generation is developed in close coordination with the brand's institutional-access work.
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 10 years in pharmaceutical or biotech, including at least 5 years of US in-line marketing and launch experience, with hospital, surgical, and/or anti-infective product experience strongly preferred. This is a US-focused, execution-oriented role in a fast-paced, launch-stage environment that rewards a hands-on, collaborative contributor.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute the integrated HCP marketing plan for D-PLEX100 in the hospital and surgical setting, aligned to the brand strategy set by the Senior Director and to corporate and commercial objectives.
- Manage day-to-day brand operations — ensuring timely development, medical/legal/regulatory review, production, and deployment of campaigns, messaging, and materials that optimize brand awareness and performance against established goals.
- Monitor brand performance, KPIs, and market dynamics — including protocol adoption and account-level uptake — and recommend tactical pivots.
- Support primary and secondary market research to build surgeon, pharmacy, and institutional insight and to inform brand tactics.
Launch Planning & Readiness
- Support cross-functional US launch readiness for D-PLEX100 and subsequent indications, contributing brand deliverables to the integrated launch plan and readiness gates.
- Develop US launch materials, field execution tools, and training content, sequenced to regulatory approval and the reimbursement and coding milestones that gate the commercial model.
- Coordinate HCP demand generation with the brand's institutional-access work (formulary tools, P&T submissions, coding support) so promotion and access readiness move together.
- Partner with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and external agencies to deliver high-quality, compliant promotional and educational content.
Portfolio & Lifecycle Support
- Execute against D-PLEX100 across its lifecycle stages (pre-launch, launch, growth), managing tactics and budget within the brand plan to maximize impact and return.
- Support indication-expansion planning by developing HCP positioning and demand-generation tactics for new surgical settings as they advance.
- Track the competitive and standard-of-care landscape — including infection-prevention bundles and protocol inertia — and surface implications for brand tactics.
- Work with sales training, commercial partners, and medical and legal teams to develop and implement commercial training for the franchise.
Stakeholder & Field Collaboration
- Serve as a key liaison between marketing and the hospital field force, driving alignment on strategy and messaging.
- Engage surgeon and pharmacy KOLs to gather insight and inform brand planning and positioning.
- Collaborate with external partners, agencies, and vendors to develop omnichannel campaigns tailored to hospital and surgical audiences.
Measures of Success
- Execution: campaigns, materials, and field tools are delivered on time, clear medical/legal/regulatory review, and are field-ready at launch.
- Brand performance: awareness, protocol adoption, and account-level uptake track to or ahead of established brand goals.
- Coordination: HCP demand generation is sequenced with institutional-access deliverables so promotion and access readiness stay aligned.
- Quality: brand messaging remains compliant and consistent across channels and materials in-market.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, including 5+ years of US in-line marketing and launch experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple brands or indications simultaneously in a fast-paced, evolving organization, with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
- Demonstrated ownership of brand execution — campaigns, messaging, materials, and agency management — through medical/legal/regulatory review.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to align field and agency partners around brand strategy.
- Experience partnering with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales, and Regulatory on compliant promotional and educational content.
- Willingness to travel ~20–30% (including conferences, sales meetings, and field rides).
Preferred Qualifications
- Hospital, surgical, anti-infective, or other inpatient / buy-and-bill product experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with inpatient DRG-reimbursed, P&T-governed products and how institutional access shapes HCP demand generation.
- Launch experience with an in-licensed or newly acquired asset.
- Experience marketing to surgeon and hospital-pharmacy audiences.
- Drug-device combination or novel-delivery product marketing experience
