About the Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Compliance Specialist with deep expertise in consumer and community lending regulations and a strong understanding of financial technology and software products. This role is critical in ensuring our banking software solutions meet applicable federal and state regulatory requirements while supporting innovation, scalability, and client success.

The ideal candidate comes from a community bank, credit union, or CDFI background, holds a CRCM or CCBCO certification (or equivalent), and is comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Development, Legal, and Client Support teams to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, actionable guidance.

The Role

  • Interpret and apply federal and state banking regulations including FFIEC, CFPB, FDIC, OCC, NCUA, ECOA, TILA, TRID, HMDA, Reg E, Reg Z, Reg DD, and BSA/AML as applicable
  • Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls related to software and data usage
  • Provide compliance guidance and training to internal teams across Product, Development, and Client Support
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on products, roadmaps, and client obligations
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders including clients, auditors, regulators, and partners
  • Review product features, workflows, disclosures, and documentation for regulatory compliance with a focus on consumer and small-medium loan products
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and gap analyses for new and existing products
  • Partner with Product and Development teams to ensure compliance is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Support Home Equity forms and disclosure requirements including application, agreement, contract, and calculation logic

Qualification for Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Law, Risk Management, or a related field
  • 6+ years of compliance experience in community banking, credit unions, CDFIs, or consumer lending
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. banking regulations with hands-on experience in TRID, HMDA, Reg Z, ECOA, and BSA/AML
  • Deep understanding of small-medium consumer and community loan products including personal loans, small business loans, home equity, and auto loans
  • CRCM or CCBCO certification strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting software products, platforms, or digital banking solutions
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear business and technical requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority
  • Experience with banking document generation, loan origination systems, core integrations, or digital account opening
  • Prior experience supporting vendor management, SOC reports, or third-party risk assessments
  • Experience working with state-by-state banking requirements and regulations
  • Background in agile or product-driven environments
  • Familiarity with fintech or banking software products

The expected base salary for this position is: USD $80,000 – $95,000 and annual Bonus as possibility. Salary is based on several factors including market conditions, location and may vary depending on job-related skills and experience.
