At BETA Technologies, we apply our intellectual curiosity, passion for aviation, and commitment to sustainability toward a shared mission of revolutionizing electric aviation. Regardless of the position one holds, each team member brings their talent and desire to positively impact the environment and lives of others in a refreshing, vibrant, and inclusive culture.

We are seeking a sharp, versatile External Communications Specialist to help tell BETA's story at a defining moment. This role will draft the announcements, briefing materials, and messaging documents behind BETA's biggest moments, from new partnerships to flight test milestones to major industry events. You will work closely with our video, creative, and marketing teams to make sure BETA's words, visuals, and narratives move in lockstep. This is a role for a writer first and foremost, one who loves the craft, works fast without cutting corners, and wants their work to matter.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Draft announcements, backgrounders, Q&As, and executive talking points for partnerships, commercial milestones, and company news
  • Build and maintain briefing books, message guides, and speaker prep materials for BETA's executives and spokespersons ahead of interviews, panels, and industry events
  • Own BETA's executive social and thought leadership program, working directly with leaders to capture their voice across LinkedIn and other channels
  • Own BETA's customer newsletter, from editorial planning to drafting to final delivery, keeping customers informed on the company's progress and key milestones
  • Support the strategy and communications plan for BETA's presence at major industry events, including messaging, announcement timing, executive preparation, and on-site collateral
  • Own and update BETA's core communications documents including company overviews, messaging frameworks, fast facts, executive biographies, and boilerplate
  • Develop launch narratives and positioning for new programs, products, and strategic initiatives, in partnership with the broader Communications team
  • Partner closely with the marketing, creative, and video teams to ensure BETA's external voice is consistent across press, brand, and customer-facing channels
  • Build deep cross-functional relationships across engineering, certification, business development, and defense to stay close to the work and surface stories worth telling

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or a closely related field
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills across formats, from announcements and briefing materials to messaging frameworks and executive social media content
  • Comfortable in rooms with senior executives and external partners, with strong instincts for listening, synthesizing, and asking the right questions
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deliverables under tight deadlines
  • A true team player and trusted partner — proactive, collaborative, and low-ego, with a track record of taking ownership, anticipating needs, and solving problems before they escalate
  • Willingness to travel for industry events, airshows and customer engagements (25%)

Above and Beyond Qualifications:

  • Background in aerospace, defense, aviation, energy, or advanced technology
  • Experience supporting spokesperson preparation, media training, or executive communications
  • Familiarity with eVTOL, AAM, or electric propulsion industry players
  • Experience at a high-growth or pre-certification aerospace or technology company
  • Desire to grow into a senior communications or media relations role as BETA's communications function scales

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
