We are seeking an experienced and strategic Principal Product Manager- CPQ to lead the successful delivery of our Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) platform. In this role, you will serve as the critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams, driving the delivery of scalable, efficient, and user-friendly quoting solutions. You will own the product backlog, define functional requirements, and ensure the CPQ system supports complex pricing structures, configurable products, and seamless sales operations.  Key Responsibilities: 

  • Own the full lifecycle of the CPQ platform (e.g., Salesforce CPQ, Oracle CPQ, Apttus), from strategy to execution. 
  • Manage and prioritize the CPQ product backlog, translating business needs into clear user stories and requirements. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, finance, legal, operations, engineering) to gather input and align on business goals. 
  • Develop and maintain the CPQ roadmap to support scalable quoting, pricing, and product configuration processes. 
  • Work closely with development teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within scope. 
  • Ensure the CPQ system supports complex pricing models, approval workflows, and compliance with company policies. 
  • Monitor system performance, gather user feedback, and drive continuous improvement. 
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), support user training, and maintain clear documentation. 
  • Stay up to date on CPQ tools, trends, and best practices to guide future enhancements. 
  • Act as the subject matter expert and advocate for CPQ capabilities across the organization. 

 Qualifications: 

  • 10 + years of experience in product management, Business Analyst or in a similar role working with enterprise CPQ platforms. 
  • Strong understanding of B2B sales and quoting processes and pricing models. 
  • In-depth experience with CPQ tools (e.g., Salesforce CPQ, Apttus, Oracle CPQ, or similar). 
  • Excellent project management, communication, and analytical skills. 
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies. 
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize competing requests effectively 
  • Strong Understanding of product catalog and SKU configuration principles 
  • Familiarity with multiple product family suite, bundled pricing and guided selling principles 

 Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience with Salesforce CPQ and/or Revenue Cloud 
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM 
  • Ability to write clear business documentation and user guides. 
  • CPQ tool certifications are a strong plus. 
  • Comfortable working with JIRA, Confluence or similar tools 

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $125,500-$187,500. In addition, this role is eligible for a bonus. Black Duck offers a competitive total rewards package. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.

Pay Range

$125,000 - $187,500 USD
