Middle Office, Options, Sr. Associate

London

Blockchain.com is connecting the world to the future of finance. As the most trusted and fastest-growing global crypto company, it helps millions of people worldwide safely access cryptocurrency. Since its inception in 2011, Blockchain.com has earned the trust of over 90 million wallet holders and more than 40 million verified users, facilitating over $1 trillion in crypto transactions.

We are looking for a technically strong Senior Associate to join our Middle Office – Options team in London. You will be responsible for managing operational risk and ensuring front-to-back trade integrity in our growing options business, with a secondary focus on DeFi. The ideal candidate brings a junior quant mindset, is fluent in Python and SQL, and has hands-on experience automating risk and P&L processes, building scalable reconciliation frameworks, and working directly with options or structured derivatives.

This is a front-line technical operations role, bridging trading, risk, and engineering, and best suited for someone who thrives in high-velocity trading environments and enjoys solving problems with data, code, and process design.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Build and maintain automated reconciliation tools, integrating data across multiple venues, clearing brokers, and internal systems for trade matching, lifecycle events, and settlements.
  • Design and implement risk and P&L attribution frameworks, leveraging Python/SQL to parse large datasets and deliver real-time or end-of-day exposure, VaR, and stress analytics.
  • Work directly with traders and quants to monitor margin utilization, capital efficiency, and risk constraints across venues; contribute to tooling around execution algo performance and post-trade analysis.
  • Act as a technical operations liaison with Treasury, Finance, and Risk teams to ensure accurate trade capture, funding, and fee allocation.
  • Develop monitoring scripts, dashboards, and alerts to track operational anomalies, portfolio drifts, or data inconsistencies—taking a programmatic approach to error reduction and efficiency.
  • Assist with the structured product lifecycle from a middle-office lens, including digital options, variance products, and on-chain derivatives where applicable.
  • Stay on top of evolving options market structure, risk methodology, and cross-venue margin requirements; contribute to internal tooling and documentation on these topics.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or analytical discipline (Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics).
  • 4+ years of experience in financial operations, quantitative middle office, or derivatives support—ideally with options or structured products.
  • Fluency in Python and SQL is required.
  • Experience with pandas, NumPy, Jupyter, and automation frameworks is nice to have.
  • Demonstrated experience building tools and scripts for trade capture, reconciliation, or reporting workflows.
  • Working knowledge of options pricing, margining methodologies and exposure calculations.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and an ability to work independently in a global cross-functional team.

COMPENSATION & PERKS

  • Competitive salary based on experience with meaningful equity in a leading industry company.
  • Apple equipment for your work setup.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including private medical insurance (BUPA), dental, pension, life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • Work from a modern, accessible office in the heart of London 4 days a week + 1 day from home
  • The opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, global technology company at the forefront of the industry
  • Work from Anywhere Policy: You can work remotely from anywhere in the world for up to 20 days per year.
