Senior Accountant, Investment Accounting

About The Role

Bosa Properties is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Investment Accounting team of talented professionals. The Investment Accounting team’s portfolio includes the management of all partner and joint venture entities along with the management of investments in other operating companies and capital placements outside of real estate. This individual will have a unique opportunity to gain experience in various areas of the department while working with seasoned professionals. The Investment accounting team works to provide timely and meaningful financial insights to enable the business to analyze performance and make data-driven decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Full-cycle accounting and reporting for multiple legal entities, including period-end reporting and preparation of annual ASPE financial statements;
  • Complete assigned month end close procedures and account reconciliations, with a supporting analysis of reconciling items and variances;
  • Review actuals vs budget reports and variance analysis for assigned service departments;
  • Review of cash flow report for assigned portfolio of corporate entities;
  • Review bank reconciliations, invoices, GST return for assigned corporate entities;
  • Prepare and/or review documents for external audits, including financial statements note disclosures, entity financials, and responding to auditor inquiries and requests;
  • Prepare/review monthly management reporting processes by preparing assigned schedules, shareholder reporting packages, or entity business plans;
  • Prepare deliverables, including funding and capital requirements, for Joint Ventures and Limited Partnerships by collaborating with development, IPP, and treasury teams;
  • Participate in development of Joint Venture reporting packages and assist the development and implementation of activities and programs designed to meet the intention of specific strategic priorities;
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy;
  • Collaborate with other finance and accounting team members to ensure cohesive and efficient operations;
  • Additional tasks may be assigned based on capacity, aptitude, and business needs.

What You Bring

  • Post secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • A CPA designation or equivalent in good standing;
  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience at a large, complex organization;
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, practices and consolidation procedures;
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities and tasks;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, building strong relationships across the organization;
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated through accuracy in data entry;
  • Proven ability to proactively adapt to changing priorities and processes;
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager considered an asset.
  • Experience with Joint Venture and Partnership reporting is considered an asset.

 

 

Our salary ranges and bonus percentages are determined by job family and level. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and training, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.

Salary

$76,200 - $104,700 CAD
