WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
Box is transforming how businesses manage content in the cloud. We provide a secure, collaborative, and intelligent platform that helps organizations work more efficiently. We are looking for an innovative Networking Engineering Manager to join our Cloud Engineering team and help shape the future of Cloud Content Management. In this role, you will lead the team responsible for designing, building, and optimizing Box’s networking infrastructure while driving key technology initiatives to ensure high availability and performance. You will foster collaboration across global teams, mentor engineers, and enhance partnerships to build solutions that deliver an exceptional experience for our customers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Technical Leadership: Oversee the architecture, scalability, and reliability of Box’s networking infrastructure while ensuring top-notch performance and security.
- Team Management: Lead a diverse team of engineers by mentoring them in a supportive environment focused on collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Global Collaboration: Facilitate communication between engineers in different locations (like the US and Poland) to ensure smooth collaboration on technical initiatives.
- Project Execution: Manage all phases of networking projects—from idea generation to deployment—balancing business impact with technical excellence.
- Strategic Decision-Making: Influence Box’s infrastructure direction through data-driven architectural decisions aligned with business goals.
- Process Optimization: Continuously improve engineering processes, tools, and best practices to boost efficiency and quality.
- Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of innovation that values automation and operational excellence to optimize efficiency while delivering long-term value.
- Team Culture & Execution: Build an inclusive team with strong ownership where fast execution meets high-quality standards.
WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor's/Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.
- 5+ years of professional network engineering experience managing large-scale production infrastructure with knowledge of best practices.
- 2+ years as a Software Engineering Manager leading teams responsible for significant production services.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies including cloud networking routing protocols along with security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale cloud infrastructures (GCP, AWS or Azure).
- Ability to collaborate effectively across various roles such as product managers or security teams while working within distributed teams across time zones.
- Proven leadership skills in mentoring others while fostering a culture focused on excellence; adept at solving complex technical challenges using analytical skills.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum enhances project efficiency through effective stand-ups sprint planning sessions managing progress throughout sprints.
