The Dev Tools and Experience team empowers Box engineers by providing modern tools and platforms that streamline the development, testing, and deployment of features—ensuring speed, safety, and compliance.
We are seeking a Software Engineer to help design, develop, test, and maintain internal software that improve the experience and productivity of engineers across the company. You will be joining a collaborative team of engineers with diverse expertise spanning the entire software development lifecycle—from infrastructure and automation to user experience and application development—all working together to simplify and elevate the day-to-day experience of Box engineers.
What you will do:
- Work side by side with other Software Engineers to develop new features that enhance developer productivity and experience.
- Work across teams to drive adoption of productivity tools and address the evolving needs of Box developers in the era of Artificial Intelligence.
- Develop and enhance the Developer Portal (Backstage) and the Workflow Engine (Prefect).
- Actively engage in team meetings, building roadmaps, carving technical vision and spreading knowledge across the engineering department.
- Play a role in developing and fostering Box culture.
- Represent Box Poland internally and externally.
- Participate in production on-call rotation with your team members.
Who you are:
- Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent experience in related fields.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proven track record of building tooling, automation, and/or services in one or multiple programming languages (e.g., Python, TypeScript, Java, Go, C#).
- Troubleshooting skills and genuine interest in getting to the root cause.
- Must speak English proficiently.
Preferred skills:
- Familiarity with Linux fundamentals.
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and practices.
- Solid coding skills with backend development experience.
Percentage of Time Spent:
- 50% coding and building integrations/orchestrations (programming, building/using APIs and setting up open-source and commercial products)
- 10% writing documentation
- 10% writing tests
- 10% fixing bugs
- 10% attending meetings
- 10% providing on-call support
