In This Role
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and certification readiness of audio technologies within a large-scale operating system ecosystem. You will work closely with internal engineering teams and external hardware partners to diagnose certification failures, improve validation frameworks, and enhance debugging capabilities. This position combines deep technical problem-solving with hands-on development, focusing on audio systems, test infrastructure, and certification processes. Your work will directly impact end-user experience by ensuring audio drivers and systems meet strict certification standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and diagnose audio certification test failures reported by external partners and escalation teams
- Perform root cause analysis on failures and drive resolution across software, drivers, and test frameworks
- Create and maintain test errata to address and overturn invalid or inconsistent certification failures
- Develop, fix, and enhance certification test content to improve accuracy, reliability, and coverage
- Execute certification test passes to validate audio drivers and ensure compliance with platform standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and hardware partners to resolve issues and improve certification outcomes
- Build and enhance internal tools to improve debugging efficiency and reduce time to resolution
- Improve observability through better logging, diagnostics, and debugging workflows
- Contribute to continuous improvement of validation processes and testing infrastructure
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with C++ programming, including system-level development
- Minimum 3+ years of experience working with Windows device drivers or low-level system components
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in advanced debugging on Windows, including root cause analysis
- Strong understanding of operating systems, drivers, and hardware-software interaction
- Experience with test automation, validation frameworks, or certification processes
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple layers (software, driver, hardware)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, partner-facing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with audio or media technologies, including DSP, audio pipelines, or acoustics
- Exposure to certification programs or compliance testing frameworks (e.g., hardware/software validation standards)
- Familiarity with debugging tools such as WinDbg or similar low-level diagnostic tools
- Experience working with hardware partners or OEMs in a validation or certification context
- Background in embedded systems or firmware development
- Experience improving test infrastructure, tooling, or observability systems
- Knowledge of audio drivers, codecs, or audio signal processing concepts
Salary Range
At Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market. For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is $ 57.69 – $ 60.10 USD per hour. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The final salary and job title may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications and could fall outside the stated range.
