Overview:
The PIP Arbitration Attorney will independently be responsible for their caseload of PIP arbitrations from the time of the submission through the conclusion of the arbitration. The attorney should have the ability to prepare their own submissions, appropriately responding to the Respondent’s defenses, as well as argue the arbitration at the time of the hearing. The attorney may also be responsible for the settlement of PIP arbitrations.
Responsibilities:
Arbitrations
- Review and updating of fee schedule for accuracy
- Preparation of pre-hearing and OTP submissions
- Performance of arbitration hearing
- Preparation of post-hearing submissions
- Preparation of Requests for Modification/Clarification and Appeals
- Preparation and attendance of Order to Show Cause
- Processing of adjournments and consolidations as necessary
Settlements
- Prepare / review fee schedule for accuracy
- Review / present settlement offer
- Negotiate potential settlement with insurance company or attorney
- Obtain authorization as necessary from medical provider
- Complete closing paperwork for settlement
Withdrawal Requests
- Review and determine if withdrawal is necessary
- Complete closing paperwork for withdrawal
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of relevant PIP arbitration experience
- Ability to properly update the fee schedule breakdowns of all medical specialties in accordance with the New Jersey Fee Schedule and corresponding regulations (MRI, chiropractic, physical therapy, acupuncture, orthopedic, neurologic, pain management, surgery, ASC, hospital, etc.)
- Ability to independently prepare all submissions and argue arbitration hearings based upon defenses submitted, including preparation of digital exhibits
- Ability to negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and adversaries
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Compensation Range:
$100,000 - $150,000 USD
Benefits: Full Time Employees and Part Time Employees over 30 hours per week
