Description:
This position is responsible for leading the Neal Plant’s FNS and Utility unit operations and providing daily production direction for these areas through interaction with Plant Staff, Shift Leaders and Operators/Technicians. Provide technical leadership and support for the Production Group to accomplish business goals.
Key Responsibilites Include:
This position is responsible for leading Finishing & Shipping/Utilities operations activities:
- Accountable for ensuring a safe and environmentally sound operation while maintaining quality and production goals. This includes responsibility for the completion of FNS and Utility related eCAT Tasks.
- Drive Operating Excellence into the tactical operation of the facility, effectively utilizing team technical knowledge and experience.
- Provides overall direction and guidance for day-to-day operations to Shift Supervisors for FNS and Utility Operations. This included completion of Daily Notes.
- Leads troubleshooting activities to resolve complex operating issues and knows when to partner with technical resources (inside & outside the Plant), when appropriate, to achieve successful resolutions.
- Establishes unit priorities to sustain and improve operating performance.
- Responsible for the training of operators and the continual improvement of training materials related to FNS and Utilities.
- Be a role model for entrepreneurial leadership, driving Braskem Culture
- Champion Operating Discipline and the Maintenance Workflow Process.
- Works closely with the Production Maintenance Coordinator to set maintenance priorities for both FNS and Utilities.
- Responsible for the coordination of start-ups, shutdowns, and turnaround planning related to FNS and Utilities.
- Responsible for maintaining strong communications with salaried and hourly staff relevant to unit status, work requirements, and operational targets.
- Responsible for Management of Change (MOC), procedure development, and incident investigations related to FNS and Utilities.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for FNS &Utility operations on a daily basis and function as a key interface for Operations and the PMC
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:
Must be available during off-hours to address issues with plant operations.
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a chemical facility or a 4-year Engineering degree
- High school diploma required
- Must have strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate and motivate all levels of the organization and to work in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate activities with other departments.
- Must understand engineering basics and have a strong knowledge of overall plant operations.
- Proficient computer skills required.
- Must be familiar with ISO, Process Safety Management procedures, and plant fire and safety regulations.
- Previous experience supervising hourly personnel is preferred.
- Must be currently eligible to work in the United States without the need for any type of sponsorship.
