Who You Are
The Senior Analyst, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting is a key hands-on contributor to our growing accounting team, responsible for preparing and coordinating on deliverables for the Company's quarterly and annual reporting cycle. This position will play a key role in bridging activities from accounting operations to external reporting with direct involvement in recording journal entries, preparing reconciliations, concluding on judgmental technical accounting matters, and drafting and tying out portions of the Company’s 10-Q, 10-K, and earnings release. The position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager, SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting and requires close collaboration with internal business partners.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, and earnings release), including select financial statements, footnote disclosures, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with technical accounting research and prepare position memo on complex or non-routine accounting matters
• Support a variety of complex accounting areas. Prior expertise in all areas is not required. The role requires only a desire and aptitude to develop deep technical expertise. These areas include leases (ASC 842), equity method accounting (ASC 323), debt and deferred royalty obligations (ASC 470), preferred stock and other complex equity instruments, embedded derivatives (ASC 815), earnings per share (ASC 260), noncontrolling interests (ASC 810), contingencies (ASC 450), and related party disclosures (ASC 850).
• Coordinate with the wider accounting team on the quarterly flux analysis and manual tie-out procedures.
• Develop into the SEC team's point person for external reporting-related functionality across the Company's systems (Coupa, SAP, Blackline, and Workiva), maintaining subject matter expertise on reports and configurations relevant to reporting.

• Maintain and enhance SOX-compliant internal controls.
• Maintain and enhance the company’s accounting policies.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and manage audit requests.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the wider accounting team, Facilities, FP&A, Tax, Legal, Strategic Finance, and Investor Relations.
• Identify and help implement process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance data quality.
• Identify and help implement AI-enabled process improvements for the SEC and broader accounting team.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for assigned accounts including those involving non-routine or complex transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA required
• 4+ years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 3 years of Big 4 (or similar) audit experience with SEC-registered clients
• Biotech or life sciences industry experience a plus
• Experience auditing and/or working within ERP and finance systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Proficiency in AI-enabled tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Google Gemini

Foundational Knowledge: Understanding of AI concepts, including machine learning, natural language processing, and data-driven decision-making.

Applied Skills: Demonstrated experience using AI tools and platforms in accounting and/or audit practices

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, educational background, location of residence and performance during the interview process.
