About the Role
We are seeking a high-performing Director of Facilities Management to oversee our Global Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) contract, which includes building operations, property management, and engineering. This highly visible and critical role bridges the gap between vendor execution and business needs, ensuring operational excellence, financial efficiency, and optimizing facility operations. As a key representative of the business, you will manage the vendor relationship, drive performance, ensure accountability, and foster continuous improvement.
Role Responsibilities
Vendor Oversight & Accountability:
- Oversee the day-to-day and strategic performance of the IFM vendor.
- Develop, communicate, and track KPIs and SLAs to measure success and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead performance management reviews, including QBRs and scorecards.
- Analyze & opine on vendor-submitted metrics
- Escalate and resolve performance issues, ensuring alignment to expectations and contractual obligations.
Integration & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the critical integration point between the business and the IFM vendor, ensuring alignment on service delivery.
- Translate business needs into clear vendor expectations and service scopes.
- Educate and align internal stakeholders (e.g., HR, Legal, Security, Workplace teams) on vendor roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Manage change within the business related to service delivery, technology rollouts, or process improvements.
Contract & Financial Management:
- Own the financial oversight of the IFM contract, including budget tracking (capex & opex), forecasting, accruals, and reconciliation.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, efficiencies, and value-added services.
- Partner with internal Procurement and Legal Teams on contract amendments, renewals, and commercial terms as needed.
- Monitor compliance with financial and operational terms, driving proactive adjustments as appropriate.
Reporting & Performance Insights:
- Build reporting that brings transparency to vendor performance, costs, and business impact.
- Use data and insights to drive accountability, process improvement, and informed decision-making.
- Partner with the Real Estate Strategy Team to support long-term planning and capital program alignment.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of progressive experience in facilities management, real estate operations, vendor management, preferably in a multi-building and campus setting.
- Strong business acumen and experience managing third-party IFM contracts at scale.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; able to translate complex operations into clear business narratives.
- Demonstrated ability to use metrics and data to drive accountability and improvement.
- Experience managing budgets, contracts, and financial performance.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment with senior-level visibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a corporate real estate environment or a client-side role with a major IFM provider.
- Familiarity with CMMS, IWMS, or building operations technology.
Physical Requirements
The onsite requirement for this role is four days per week split between our Westport, CT headquarters and our Midtown, NY office.
Compensation
The wage range for this role is $375,000 - $475,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 70-80% of this wage range.
