Design Trade Specialist – PDC Showroom
Design Trade Specialist – PDC Showroom
Overview
Big things are happening: We’re coming to the Pacific Design Center soon with our first trade showroom—and we need a powerhouse to launch it. We’re looking for a Design Trade Specialist who thrives on autonomy and possesses a true 'founder' mindset.
As an Autonomous Sales Leader, you will be the face of our brand to the professional design community. You aren't just a salesperson; you are a strategic partner to interior designers, architects, and high-end clientele. Operating with an "act like an owner" mentality, you will build a book of business from the ground up in a new-to-market showroom model. While you will report to the Santa Monica Store Manager, you will lead the charge at the PDC, driving revenue through grassroots networking, expert consultations, and proactive business development.
What You’ll Own
- Drive Trade Revenue: Proactively identify, outreach to, and onboard interior designers and trade members, building a robust and recurring book of business.
- Strategic HQ Collaboration: Work closely with the HQ Retail, B2B, and Trade team to align on outreach strategies, funnel large-scale project leads, and provide local support to increase overall order volume.
- Expert Design Advising: Act as a technical and aesthetic consultant for professional projects and high-end walk-in clientele, navigating our sample library to curate bespoke solutions.
- Grassroots Networking: Actively engage with the PDC community and local design firms; you are responsible for driving showroom traffic through consistent outreach, hosting presentations, and attending industry events.
- Showroom Operations: Own the end-to-end experience—from sample management and aesthetic upkeep to overseeing the custom order-to-shipment workflow.
- Regional Partnership: Maintain a "one-team" mentality by working closely with the Santa Monica store team to ensure a seamless regional experience for all customers.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of experience in premium home, luxury showroom, or high-end design sales.
- Proven Clienteling Skills: A track record of building and maintaining a deep clientele list with a focus on professional trade accounts.
- Design Fluency: A deep passion for interiors and the ability to speak the language of professional designers (textiles, scales, and technical specs).
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: You thrive in "untested" environments and are comfortable working independently to hit aggressive sales targets.
- Strong Judgment: A service- and solution-oriented approach with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently to various audiences.
- Flexibility: While focused on PDC trade hours, the ability to support the Santa Monica team or weekend events as needed is required.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods and move product/samples weighing up to 20 pounds.
Compensation
At Brooklinen, our goal is to offer a competitive total compensation package, which we determine based on specific market data, taking into account our company size, stage, industry, and location. The compensation for this role is $23-$27 /hour.

About Brooklinen
Brooklinen, home of The Internet’s Favorite Sheets, was founded in 2014 with one goal in mind: We want you to be comfortable.
We believe everyone deserves beautiful home essentials, and our approach to provide these is simple: Create high-quality products using the finest materials – from bedding to towels and everything in between – and offer these products directly to our customers (without the luxury markup!). As we’ve expanded beyond the bedroom, introducing bath goods, accessories, loungewear, our Spaces marketplace, and IRL retail stores (with many more opening in 2022 and beyond!), our goal of keeping you comfortable has remained at the forefront.
We take pride in our products and think you will, too: Our sheets, towels and more have received over 100,000 5-star reviews and been recognized by numerous industry tastemakers such as Apartment Therapy, Good Housekeeping, The New York Times’ Wirecutter and many more.
