Opportunity
Brunswick is seeking an Associate with strategic communications advisory expertise, ideally within the Industrials & Infrastructure sector. In this role, you will advise clients and drive execution on accounts, focusing on the delivery of workstreams and proactive development of ideas. Associates are able to leverage their own specialised communications skills and advisory backgrounds while operating in Brunswick’s generalist environment.
You will nurture a wide internal network across offices and specialisms to share, develop and deliver the best examples of work for internal and external use; as well as broadening your external network.

We help our clients in the industrials and infrastructure sectors navigate a range of business-critical challenges from ownership change and restructuring to activist shareholders and reputational crises.
Our industrials and infrastructure practice spans Europe, the US, IMEA and Asia Pacific and many of our biggest mandates are cross-border or multi-jurisdictional.
We pride ourselves on the range of technical and craft skills that we can deploy on behalf of our clients and our in-depth knowledge and understanding of the issues that the sector is wrestling with – be it the increasing influence of regulators on industry, the opportunities and risks presented by evolving sustainability considerations, challenges in hiring and retention, or the impacts of geopolitical tensions on supply chains.
We help our clients navigate this landscape by combining our deep sector knowledge with a nuanced understanding of the issues that matter to investors, regulators, media, employees, and broader society.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive execution on client accounts within the industrial & infrastructure practice group, managing workflow and key elements (e.g. client calls, first drafts of documents etc.).
- Advise a broad mix of our clients across a range of issues and communications disciplines, with the support of Directors/Partners, and drawing on independent experience and insights.
- Understand complex sector issues and the attitude of media, politicians/regulators, NGOs and other stakeholder groups to this sector.
- Manage complex media and policy-related interactions, using advanced knowledge of media and other stakeholder landscapes.
- Play a key role in team management and dynamics, including supporting smooth team transitions, and serving as a day-to-day mentor to junior team members.
- Play an active role in drafting new business proposals and letters of engagement, including participating in pitch meetings.
- Foster a network of journalist and stakeholder contacts and relationships, proactively building a network to identify new business prospects and media contacts.
- Together with Partners and Directors, proactively drive the strategic growth of Brunswick’s Industrial & Infrastructure offer to clients.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
- 6 - 8 years of relevant generalist experience gained working in a strategic communications advisory role, within an agency setting, or consulting experience of advising corporate clients from aerospace, automotives, defence, manufacturing, agricultural, or other primary or secondary industries, or working in or with the above sectors in another professional capacity e.g. journalism.
- An understanding of the interplay between corporates, the financial community, the political and regulatory arena and social stakeholders.
- A strong sense of corporate positioning, and how to develop strategies that can translate into programs with real sustained impact.
- Knowledge of the industrial & infrastructure media landscape, with experience in media-handling
- Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, high EQ levels and an engaging presentation style.
- A global perspective and able to thrive in an international businesses or organizations.
- A credible and compelling style that can engage senior business leaders.
- A balance of creative and analytical thinking, bringing rigor, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Proven project and/or program management experience.
- Natural team-working skills and an ability to work in a collegiate way.
