About the Role:

The Insider Threat Manager is a vital member of the Staff Security team, dedicated to identifying and mitigating insider threats throughout the employee lifecycle. This role requires a unique blend of counterintelligence expertise, emotional intelligence, and business acumen to effectively collaborate with senior leaders at Bridgewater. We are seeking an exceptional candidate who excels in a demanding, fast-paced environment to lead and enhance our Insider Threat program. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills, capable of prioritizing actions in high-volume, sensitive situations. The manager will be a key partner to the Head of Insider Threat, contributing to team development, strategic decision-making on sensitive matters, and process improvement initiatives.

You will drive the following responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and direction for employee investigations, ensuring thorough and unbiased processes. Including and importantly: investigative interviewing/interrogation of employees as part of ongoing matters possibly in partnership with HR and/or Legal.
  • Proactively monitor and identify potential employee and insider threats using advanced security tools and technologies.
  • Synthesize data and threats, escalating them to appropriate levels when necessary.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies to enhance security measures and protocols.
  • Operate autonomously, making informed decisions and taking initiative in security-related matters.
  • Manage and lead a team of security professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to push on thinking and strategy, contributing to the overall security strategy of the organization.
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and team training programs.
  • Respond to staff security incidents, investigations and emergencies, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to mitigate risks.
  • Brief senior leaders on staff security matters, providing clear and concise updates and recommendations.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, Information Technology, Organizational Science, Organizational Psychology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Criminology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in employee investigations, staff security, employee relations or a related role.
  • Interview and interrogation skills tied to investigation and incident response.
  • Understanding of security technologies and tools used in the industry.
  • Proven ability to operate autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute to high-level security planning.
  • Experience in assessing and managing employee risk, including identifying and mitigating potential threats.
  • Knowledge of best practices in employee risk management and insider threat detection a plus

Physical Requirements

This role will follow a hybrid schedule, with an onsite requirement of four days per week at our Westport CT campus.

Compensation

The wage range for this role is $225,000 - $375,000 inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 70% - 80% of this wage range.
