Position Summary
The SAP Production Engineering and Operations (PEO) Solution Architect serves as the senior solution authority responsible for the design, architecture, and implementation of SAP Production Engineering and Operations solutions within an SAP S/4HANA environment. This role translates complex engineering, manufacturing execution, production operations, and digital thread requirements into scalable, best-practice solutions that support business objectives and operational excellence. The Architect leads blueprint and solution design workshops, defines solution scope and architectural standards, guides functional delivery teams, and serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, project teams, and SAP functional and technical resources to ensure the successful delivery of integrated engineering and manufacturing solutions across the enterprise.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end SAP PEO solution architecture supporting engineering, manufacturing, production execution, and digital thread processes.

Design and govern manufacturing master data structures including engineering BOMs (EBOMs), manufacturing BOMs (MBOMs), routings, production process definitions, work instructions, and change management processes.

Define engineering-to-manufacturing integration strategies that enable seamless transition from product design through production execution.

Architect production execution processes including shop floor operations, work instructions, quality checkpoints, manufacturing traceability, and as-built records.

Establish integration architecture between SAP PEO and related SAP solutions including PP, EWM, QM, MM, PLM, MES, and engineering systems.

Lead blueprint workshops, solution design sessions, architecture reviews, and requirements-gathering activities with business and technical stakeholders.

Evaluate engineering and manufacturing processes; develop recommendations and future-state solution roadmaps that improve efficiency, compliance, and product traceability.

Define security, authorization, and role-based access strategies supporting engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operational teams.

Provide architectural governance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with SAP best practices, scalability, maintainability, and business objectives.

Collaborate with technical teams to support integrations, reporting, data migration, enhancements, and custom development activities.

Mentor consultants and project team members while providing guidance on solution design decisions and implementation best practices.

Support business development efforts, solution estimates, statements of work, and technical proposal development as a subject matter expert.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

8+ years of SAP manufacturing solution implementation experience, including SAP PEO, PP, MES, PLM, or related manufacturing technologies.

2+ full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations with responsibility for solution architecture, enterprise design, or lead architecture functions.

Deep expertise in SAP PEO, manufacturing execution, engineering change management, production operations, work instructions, and digital manufacturing processes.

Experience designing manufacturing and engineering solutions for complex, highly regulated environments.

Strong knowledge of SAP PEO integration with PP, QM, EWM, MM, PLM, MES, and engineering systems.

Demonstrated ability to lead workshops, facilitate design sessions, and communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience supporting U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), federal government, defense contractor, aerospace, shipbuilding, industrial manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries.

Experience with digital thread, model-based manufacturing, product lifecycle management (PLM), and configuration-controlled production environments.

SAP Production Engineering and Operations (PEO) implementation experience in aerospace, defense, or engineer-to-order manufacturing environments.

Experience supporting manufacturing traceability, serialized production, quality compliance, and as-built/as-maintained records.

SAP certification in PEO, Production Planning, Manufacturing, or related SAP disciplines.

Prior consulting or systems integration experience with responsibility for solution architecture, client advisory services, statement of work development, and delivery governance.
Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $155,507– $225,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. We are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This posted range reflects our good faith estimate of the compensation we reasonably expect to offer for this role at the time of posting.
