Summary

Under the supervision of the Court Administrator/Friend of the Court, performs a variety of administrative support functions. Activities include supervising assigned clerical support staff, assisting in the implementation of court policies and procedures, coordinating mediation functions, providing human resources assistance, and maintaining administrative, mediation and personnel records.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Coordinates Circuit Court Case Evaluation System. Schedules cases, notifies parties and attorneys, arranges for evaluators, processes payment of evaluation fees and decisions, and maintains payment and case evaluation records. 
  2. Manages assigned supervisory and clerical support staff. Makes effective hiring recommendations, oversees staff training, assigns work, evaluates work performance, and initiates discipline. 
  3. Assists in evaluating court policies and procedures, analyzing statute and court rule changes, and in implementing court policies and procedures.
  4. Responds to inquiries from clients, attorneys, and the public. Provides information about court policies and procedures, explains FOC grievance procedure, and provides case information.
  5. Reviews and verifies documents and reports for accuracy and conformance to office rules and procedures.
  6. Coordinates court hiring, payroll, and personnel records maintenance; includes preparing job postings, screening applications, scheduling interviews, providing new employee orientation, preparing payroll reports, maintaining payroll records, and maintaining personnel files. 
  7. Maintains confidential collective bargaining information. 
  8. Prepares and processes payment vouchers, budget and expenditure documents, purchase requisitions and related documents. Assists in reviewing budget status reports.
  9. Compiles and interprets caseload and case processing related statistics; prepares reports as required for administrative and judicial review. 
  10. Requisitions office equipment and supplies; maintains supply inventory.
  11. Assists Court Administrator in coordinating work functions with the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office. 

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent in business administration, personnel management or other closely related area.
  • Three to five years of progressively responsible case processing and/or office management experience in a court or closely related setting, including two years of supervisory experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities                     

  • This position provides direct supervision including hiring, discipline, training/development, and termination of 1-4 employees

 Working Conditions

Hybrid Work Classification: Hybrid Eligible after probationary period
Flexibility Classification: Fixed Schedule

  • Largely sedentary role with extensive computer work
  • Frequent work with the public and customers

Salary Range

$64,355.88 - $82,217.15 USD
