Job Specification 

Role: This is an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel based in Taiwan. You will be a key member of the team, providing legal, commercial, and strategic support for our joint venture, which manages a significant portfolio of solar assets. This position reports to the regional HQ (based in Singapore) and General Counsel. 

 Experience and Skills: 

• Over 5 years of project development and operational experience, ideally from an in-house or leading law firm environment. Some M&A experience desirable. 

• Experience in the renewables or infrastructure sector is highly preferred. 

• Strong contractual understanding with experience in reviewing and managing project agreements, land leases, and permits. 

• Taiwanese law qualification is an essential; practical experience is highly valued. 

• Ability to work effectively in a small, dynamic, and scaling team. 

• Must be robust, proactive, and able to manage issues with multiple stakeholders. 

• Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is essential. 

 

Role Detail: 

Your responsibilities will be broad, providing end-to-end support for our Taiwan operations, including: 

 

• Business Planning and Execution 

• Participate in the business planning and execution cycle with our JV partner on permits, construction, land development, and financing. 

• Manage the internal review and approval process with the Peak Energy team. 

• Participate in JV Steering Committee meetings, collaborating with our JV partner to review and assess contracts and other documents proposed for approval. 

• Legal Advisory and Contract Management 

• Provide legal advice on the corporate structure required to deliver desired financial outcomes. 

• Review and gain a strong contractual understanding of the various agreements tied to the projects. 

• Oversee the buildout and organisation of the dataroom for the assets. 

• Corporate Governance 

• Act as adviser to our directors in the JV’s project Special Purpose Companies (SPCs) to represent shareholder interests. 

• Manage and apply company stamps and the stamps of the legal representative in accordance with internal approvals. 

• Risk Management and Communication 

• Manage overall asset performance and identify potential legal and business risksmodel. 

• Interface with our JV partner to resolve key issues. 

• Communicate and coordinate with Peak Energy's functional teams to prepare memoranda on identified risks and proposed mitigants. 

• Provide timely reporting on the evolving risk profile of the assets.
