Together, Carta is creating the end-to-end ERP platform for private markets. Traditional ERP solutions don’t work for Private Funds. Private capital markets need a comprehensive software solution to replace outdated spreadsheets and fragmented service providers. Carta’s software for the Office of the Fund CFO does just that - it’s a new category of software to make private markets look more like public markets - a connected ERP for private capital.

As Senior Manager, Public Relations, you’ll steward the company’s public narrative, drive trust, visibility, and influence in the tech and private markets communities. 

The Head of PR at Carta plays a critical role in shaping the company's public narrative, elevating its position as the infrastructure powering private markets. They drive strategic communications that influence how investors, founders, and the media understand Carta’s mission, products, and industry leadership. By managing external perception and amplifying thought leadership, they help build trust, brand equity, and market momentum.

Responsibilities would include: 

  • Drive strategic communications to elevate Carta’s market presence. Develop and execute PR strategies that amplify Carta’s position as the ERP  for private capital. Expand brand awareness beyond venture capital into adjacent sectors like private equity and limited partners. Ensure Carta’s fund accounting and reporting  platform is consistently represented in high-impact media coverage. 
  • Tell Carta’s innovation story with purpose and precision. Craft compelling narratives that position Carta as a category-defining innovator at the intersection of fintech, SaaS, employee empowerment, startup culture, and private markets. Use thoughtful storytelling and targeted media engagement to build lasting brand equity and shape public perception.
  • Lead integrated PR campaigns that highlight Carta’s business momentum. Own communications around product launches, strategic partnerships, data-driven insights, policy thinking, customer success stories, and more. Work cross-functionally to ensure these narratives showcase Carta’s scale, credibility, and innovation across its product offerings.
  • Amplify strategic partnerships to expand Carta’s influence. Collaborate with product, business development, and marketing teams to identify high-impact partnerships. Shape and share stories that resonate with tech, private markets and business media. Build co-marketing programs that drive mutual value and brand visibility.
  • Advance executive visibility through thought leadership. Partner with Carta’s leadership team to design and run a comprehensive thought leadership program, including bylined content, speaking opportunities, award submissions, and top-tier media engagements. Ensure executives are seen as credible voices on ownership, private market infrastructure, and modern finance trends.
  • Position Carta as a trusted resource to media and influencers. Cultivate strong relationships with business, finance, tech, and policy press. Extend outreach to industry analysts, ecosystem influencers, and third-party advocates to reinforce Carta’s strategic voice in the market.
  • Foster collaboration and communications excellence across the company. Work seamlessly with legal, finance, marketing, and product teams to ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, and compelling. Enable fast, coordinated execution in a dynamic and high-growth environment.

About You

  • A strategic and analytical thinker who can distill complex technical and product concepts for a media audience 
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B PR and Communications with at least 3 years in-house
  • Must have good relationships with tech and business (private equity and private credit is a plus!) 
  • The ability to bring people along in planning and act as a team unifier in meeting goals
  • Comfort and agility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience overseeing a public relations agency 
  • An understanding of how subfunctions of marketing come together to create impact 
  • A level of character that builds trust and exemplifies working collaboratively 
  • BA required 
  • SaaS experience

Carta’s compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full time roles, exceptional benefits, and, for applicable roles, commissions plans. Our minimum cash compensation (salary + commission if applicable) range for this role is: $161,000 - $202,000 in San Francisco and New York. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.
