Temporary Behavioral Health Care Coordinator

We have a opportunity to join the Alliance as a Temporary Behavioral Health Care Coordinator in the Care Management Department.  There is one position available. 

ABOUT THIS TEMP POSITION

This is a temporary position and the length of assignment is estimated to go from May 2025 to December 31, 2025. The length of the assignment is always dependent on business need and dates may change. While the assignment would be at the Alliance, if selected, you would be an employee of a temporary employment agency that we would connect you with.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Reporting to the Behavioral Health Care Coordination Supervisor, this position:

  • Assists the Behavioral Health Care Management team with providing behavioral health care coordination activities for Alliance members 
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with provider offices, County departments and other community agencies, and internal stakeholders related to care coordination for members

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE 

We are looking to hire Behavioral Health Care Coordinators for our newly formed and expanding Behavioral Health team in Care Management. As a Care Coordinator, you will deliver exceptional customer service to our members by utilizing empathy while maintaining professional boundaries. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is well-organized and detailed, adapts well to changing situations and policies, and enjoys working with, empowering and educating others. Candidates bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Hmong are highly desired for these positions

  • Knowledge of:
    • The principles and practices of health care systems
    • The principles and practices of care coordination
    • The principles and practices of customer service
    • Diverse needs of the Medi-Cal population
  • Ability to:
    • Understand the workings of the Alliance, particularly the Enhanced Health Services, Utilization Management, and Member Services departments
    • Communicate program mission, vision, and roles
    • Quickly learn and competently navigate Microsoft Excel and Alliance computer systems
    • Interpret, explain and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines
    • Clearly, completely, and independently document, summarize, and resolve members' concerns and inquiries, and recognize those issues that requires escalation to a higher level
  • Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent 
    • Three years of experience related to care coordination in a health care setting which involved interacting with members, patients, and providers in meeting their service needs (an Associate's degree in Health, Social Services, or a related field or current certification as a Medical Assistant may substitute for one year of the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying

OTHER INFORMATION

  • We are in a hybrid work environment, and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
  • While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
  • In-office or in-community presence may be required for some positions and is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.

The full compensation range for this position is listed by location below. 

The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).

Typical areas in Zone 1: Bay Area, Sacramento, Los Angeles area, San Diego area

Typical areas in Zone 2: Fresno area, Bakersfield, Central Valley (with the exception of Sacramento), Eastern California, Eureka area

Zone 1 (Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz)

$26.33 - $29 USD

Zone 2 (Mariposa and Merced)

$23.96 - $29 USD
