Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer, Ops Analysis

Role Overview:
CHAOS is seeking a highly-skilled and motivated Senior Modeling & Simulation / Ops analysis Engineer to join our team supporting our R&D and mission engineering initially focusing on our next-generation C2, sensors and effects. This is a highly collaborative role which will allow you to work on multiple capabilities within our product offerings. As a member of our engineering team, you also have the opportunity to expand your skillset across our product families.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and perform Ops Analysis / Mission Engineering for our next-generation C2, sensor, and effector systems
- Integrate COTS and GOTS SW solutions with our SW and simulations
- Develop tactically relevant scenarios for our current and potential customers working with business development and engineering
- Develop and report Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) and Measures of Performance (MOPs) for our systems
- Visualization of our systems using COTS, GOTS, and internal tools
- Work full-time on-site in our office in Los Angeles (Hawthorne), California
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or higher Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related degree
- 10+ years of professional applied experience in Defense
- Experience with COTS (e.g. MAK VR-Forces) and/or GOTS (e.g. AFSIM) Modeling & Simulation tools
- Experience with modeling & simulation standards (DIS, HLA, and/or TENA)
- Experience implementing and performing analysis on tactical scenarios
- Experience with Agile lifecycle processes including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test-Driven Development Methodologies
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams
- U.S. Person status is required as this position will require the ability to access U.S.-only data systems
Preferred Requirements:
- Current or previous DoD security clearance
- Experience with Ground or Airborne Sensors (Radars, EO/IR, EW, etc.)
- Experience with Command & Control (C2) systems
- Experience with 2D and 3D Visualization ideally in defense use cases (e.g. SIMDIS)
- Experience with DoD & related System/SW Architectures and messaging standards (e.g. OMS, SOSA, Link-16, etc)
- Experience with git
- Experience with Containers (e.g. Docker, Podman, etc.)
- Experience with SW languages such as Python, C++, Rust, NodeJS, Java, Go, etc.
