Role Overview:
The Electronic Lab Technician will support research, development, and quality assurance processes within the Radio Frequency (RF) lab. You will work closely with engineers to assemble, test, and troubleshoot RF devices and circuits used in wireless communications and other high-frequency applications.
Responsibilities:
- Testing & Measurement: Set up and operate specialized RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers (VNA), signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose signal interference, component failures, and complex system integration issues in RF circuits and finished assemblies.
- Lab Maintenance: Build and manage automated characterization racks; ensure all lab equipment is calibrated and functioning at maximum efficiency.
- Tracking inventory of equipment and nodes
- Documentation: Maintain accurate test data, generate detailed test reports, and document experiment results for engineering teams.
- Assembly: Build breadboards, test fixtures, and wiring harnesses from sketches, engineering drawings, and schematics.
- Field tests: Assist in organizing and supporting field tests of Ziva systems
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: 2–5+ years of hands-on lab/repair experience with electronic systems
- Strong understanding PCB design and test, ideally with radio frequency systems.
Preferred Requirements:
- Education: Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field
- equivalent military training (e.g., PMEL) is highly valued.
- Automation: Experience with scripting for automated testing (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW).
- Certifications: FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL), ETA International RF
- Specialist, or industry-specific certifications from vendors like Anritsu or Nokia.
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 calibration standards or FCC regulations.
