Job Overview
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Financial Administration team. The Staff Accountant reports to the Director – Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting and is responsible for preparing general journal entries and account reconciliations, principally for North America operations, and provides general ledger and period close support on a global basis. The Staff Accountant will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and assist in the production and disbursement of financial reports.
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly journal entries, ensuring that transactions are accurately explained and supported
- Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring balances are appropriately supported
- Support the preparation of internal financials, 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, earnings releases, and other investor materials
- Maintain fixed asset schedules utilizing the fixed asset software
- Maintain prepaid expenses and deferred charges schedules
- Assist with general ledger close processes, such as allocations, FX rates, internal report preparation, consolidation
- Responsible for areas such as cash, fixed assets and depreciation, prepaids and deposits, investments in subsidiaries, intercompany accounting, goodwill, intangibles, leases, asset retirement obligations, debt and deferred financing fees, and general accruals
- Assist with external auditor requests related to quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SOX 404 audits
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as requested
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 2-4 years of experience in general accounting required
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Prefer experience with Oracle
- Required experience with public companies and SEC reporting
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Outstanding communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to work with various levels of staff and management, as well as external parties
- Willing and initiative to assist others to meet deadlines
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Work Location Flexibility

Salary and other compensation
A good-faith estimate of the annual base salary range for this position in the US is $70,000 – $85,000. Starting pay within this range may vary based on factors such as education level, experience, skills, geographic location, market conditions, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is eligible for bonus incentive compensation.
