What you'll do
We're looking for a People Operations Lead to own and design the end-to-end People Operations strategy across Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil. You will be instrumental in setting the operational standard for all three markets, ensuring onboarding, offboarding, payroll coordination, compliance, and employment documentation are consistent, scalable, and locally compliant.
Your primary responsibilities include:
-
Defining Global Operations: Serve as the internal expert on labor law and HR compliance across LATAM. You will have deep knowledge of at least one market and solid working knowledge of the others.
-
Driving AI-Native Efficiency: Architect automated workflows using tools like N8N, Claude, Gemini, Replit, and Slack to eliminate manual tasks across the employee lifecycle. Your goal is to make People Operations frictionless for employees and fully auditable for the business, continuously reducing operational overhead as Clara scales.
-
Managing Data as a Product: Own the integrity of global People data, including headcount, turnover, tenure, and compliance status. You will build and maintain dashboards in Metabase that give leadership real-time visibility, enabling data-driven decision-making at every level.
-
Leading & Scaling the Team: Manage and mentor a regional team of People Ops professionals. You will foster a culture of high ownership, set clear priorities, build team capacity, and ensure consistent execution quality across all markets.
-
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Finance, Legal, and country leadership to align People processes with business operations and regulatory requirements. You will organize and maintain People documentation and workflows in Google Drive and collaborate with the broader People team to ensure seamless global integration.
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Must haves
-
Proven experience designing, scaling, and managing People Operations in high-growth tech environments across multiple LATAM jurisdictions.
-
Strong working knowledge of labor law and HR compliance in at least two of Clara's three markets (Mexico, Colombia, Brazil).
-
Experience or interest in AI tools to automate workflows, with a demonstrated ability to build those workflows to increase output, rather than just using them.
-
Data fluency: comfortable navigating People data in Metabase or similar tools and turning it into actionable insights.
-
Proven role-specific execution and an ownership mindset: you move seamlessly from overarching strategy to compliance detail without losing speed or quality.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to navigate complex stakeholder environments, manage up effectively, and respectfully push back to reach the best answer.
-
Adaptability to fast-changing environments, organized, rigorous, and comfortable holding multiple markets and priorities simultaneously.
Nice to haves
-
Basic proficiency in Portuguese, or a strong desire to learn it.
-
Experience implementing or migrating global HRIS or payroll systems in a multi-country setup.
-
Familiarity with specific compliance frameworks: CLT and eSocial (Brazil), IMSS/INFONAVIT (Mexico), UGPP (Colombia).
-
Experience working with N8N, Replit, or similar automation/low-code tools.
-
Independent analytical skills using spreadsheets, SQL, or Python.
-
A good sense of humor to balance the ambition and pace of our mission.

Clara’s Hybrid Policy
Claridians in a hybrid mode split their time between working from the office, talking to or visiting customers, or working from home. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for each individual and team.
We don't enforce a minimum number of days for most roles, but you're expected to spend time at the office organically, and be at the office most days during your ramp-up or when required by your leader.
