About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Cloudian storage solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in distributed storage systems, cloud architecture, and enterprise-scale data management. The ideal candidate will work closely with customers, sales teams, and engineering to deliver scalable, high-performance storage and AI solutions that meet complex business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Design and architect comprehensive Cloudian HyperStore solutions tailored to customer requirements
  • Develop technical specifications and system diagrams per customer requirements
  • Create scalable storage architectures supporting petabyte-scale deployments
  • Ensure solution designs align with security, compliance, and performance requirements
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to influence product roadmap based on customer needs

Customer Engagement & Technical Leadership

  • Lead technical discussions with enterprise customers during pre-sales, implementation, and post-sales phases
  • Conduct technical workshops, proof-of-concepts, and architecture reviews
  • Provide technical guidance on data migration strategies and hybrid cloud integrations
  • Serve as primary technical escalation point for complex customer issues
  • Present solutions to C-level executives and technical stakeholders

Implementation & Optimization

  • Oversee deployment of Cloudian HyperStore clusters in on-premises and hybrid environments
  • Configure and optimize storage policies, replication strategies, and data lifecycle management
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and backup strategies for production environments
  • Troubleshoot complex performance and scalability issues

Technical Consulting & Support

  • Provide technical expertise during sales cycles and RFP responses
  • Develop best practices documentation and deployment guides
  • Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the organization
  • Stay current with emerging storage technologies and industry trends
  • Participate in technical conferences and customer advisory boards

Required Skills & Experience:

Technical Expertise

  • 7+ years of experience in storage architecture, preferably with object storage systems
  • Hands-on experience with Cloudian HyperStore or similar distributed storage platforms (Ceph, MinIO, NetApp StorageGRID)
  • Deep understanding of S3 API, REST protocols, and cloud storage standards
  • Experience with Linux system administration, networking, and virtualization technologies
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation

Enterprise Architecture

  • Proven track record designing and implementing enterprise-scale storage solutions
  • Experience with data center architecture, including compute, storage, and networking components
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies for large-scale environments
  • Understanding of compliance requirements (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX) and data governance
  • Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and multi-cloud strategies

Industry Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of storage protocols (NFS, SMB, iSCSI) and file systems
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack)
  • Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark) and analytics workloads
  • Understanding of database technologies and their storage requirements

Customer-Facing Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and business audiences
  • Experience leading customer workshops and technical training sessions
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Experience managing multiple customer engagements simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Professional certifications in storage technologies (NetApp, Dell EMC, AWS, Azure)
  • Experience with software-defined storage and hyper-converged infrastructure
  • Background in storage performance tuning and capacity planning
  • Previous experience in technical sales or customer success roles
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies like AI/ML workloads and edge computing

Travel Requirements

This position requires approximately 25-40% travel to customer sites, conferences, and company events.
