Position Overview 

The Integration Manager role focuses on completing long-term integration activities and leading the integration of tuck-in acquisitions into existing Partner Companies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate Extended Integration Workstreams: Work with a cross-functional team to finalize extended integration tasks such as transitioning banking arrangements, deploying Cobalt’s 401k and other benefits programs, and implementing financial best-practices in purchase accounting and GAAP accounting.
  • Oversee Tuck-In Acquisitions: Lead the integration of tuck-in acquisitions into existing Partner Companies within Cobalt, ensuring the seamless merging of business processes and cultures to foster lasting growth.
  • Maintain Clear Communication: Serve as top-team connective tissue, ensuring clear and effective communication with portfolio leaders, Cobalt holding company leaders, and third-party partners throughout the integration process.

Success in this role will be gauged by how quickly new portfolio companies, particularly tuck-in acquisitions, are integrated and by feedback from portfolio leaders on Cobalt's performance in serving them. Ideal candidate 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, STEM or Business field preferred
  • 2-4 years of operations experience, including roles with leadership responsibilities
  • Experience in Corporate Development or Strategy (e.g., consulting industry, corporate strategy team, Private Equity) is a plus but not required
  • Some experience in management or supervisory roles is preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence others outside of direct reporting lines
  • Analytical thinker with a solutions-oriented mindset; able to convert analysis to action in a blue-collar organization
  • Proactive and able to act independently
  • Respect for and experience with the Skilled Trades is a plus
  • Travel is required and will vary by portfolio company location

Location

The ideal candidate will be based in Washington, DC.

In-person engagement across the portfolio is critical for this role.  As such, travel is required and can be expected as much as weekly for periods of time.
