POSITION OVERVIEW
Cobalt is hiring a Director of Corporate Development to own and drive our early-stage M&A process. The Director of Corporate Development will coordinate with the Alpine Sourcing team and Cobalt M&A team to:
•    Serve as Cobalt’s external face in the market by selling founders and business owners on the merits of joining Cobalt and driving Cobalt’s brand equity in the market
•    Systemically identify compelling acquisition candidates and manage the process to determine actionability with Cobalt’s M&A team
•    Track and continuously improve Cobalt’s early-stage M&A systems and processes to drive volume and quality in service of Cobalt’s annual M&A objectives

The Director of Corporate Development will report to Cobalt’s EVP of M&A, Jose Emanuelli, a former private equity investment professional, and will have daily mentorship from C-level executives, particularly Tyler Hoffman (Co-CEO, M&A). In addition, the Director of Corporate Development will work directly with C-level executives across M&A, Finance and Operations. Early on, the role will be as a player rather than a coach, with substantial rolling-up-of-sleeves. As we grow, the Director of Corporate Development will have the opportunity to build out a team and transition into a player/coach capacity. 

QUALIFICATIONS
•    3-5 years of M&A experience with strong preference for deal origination specialization 
•    3-5 years of direct sales experience (in an M&A or operational context)
•    Strong sales and interpersonal skills
•    Strong oral and written communication ability
•    Strong and demonstrated quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

COMPENSATION AND TIMING
A competitive compensation package will be offered. Cobalt is looking to have the Director of Corporate Development join its NYC team in the near term.
