Solutions Architect, Professional Services – Asia

We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Solutions Architect to join our Professional Services team in Asia. In this role, you’ll partner with enterprise customers to design, deploy, and optimise modern data protection and cloud resilience solutions. From focused upgrades to large-scale strategic transformations, you’ll help customers navigate the complexities of multi-cloud, compliance, and cyber-resilience environments with confidence.

Key Objectives:

Design and Deliver Scalable Data Protection Solutions
Translate complex business requirements into robust technical architectures, leveraging Commvault and cloud-native technologies to ensure secure, compliant, and resilient data environments.

Drive Successful Implementation and Migration Projects
Lead the hands-on deployment, configuration, and optimisation of backup and recovery solutions—ensuring seamless cutover from legacy systems and minimising disruption to customer operations.

Act as a Trusted Technical Advisor to Clients
Build strong relationships with stakeholders by applying consultative methods, guiding decision-making across modern data management, cyber resilience, and cloud integration.

Ensure High-Quality Delivery and Customer Satisfaction
Proactively manage technical risks, collaborate across project teams, and provide timely documentation and progress reporting to ensure each engagement meets customer expectations and internal standards.

How you will make an impact:

  • Engage with customers to assess and understand their current data and information management landscape.
  • Design and implement solutions across Modern Data Protection, Multi-Cloud, Archive & Compliance, Disaster Recovery, as well as Operational and Cyber Resilience.
  • Install and configure Commvault hardware and software based on technical and business requirements.
  • Validate customer readiness by confirming all technical pre-requisites are in place.
  • Perform data migrations and agent configurations across databases, hypervisors, and application stacks.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in collaboration with internal support and development teams.
  • Provide daily updates and risk/issue escalation to project manager(s) and the relevant stakeholders.
  • Document all implementation activities, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and as-built documentation.
  • Stay current with emerging best practices in data protection, cyber resiliency and cloud delivery.
  • Collaborate with regional Technical Architects on global client engagements.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the full project lifecycle.

What you will bring:

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues simply and clearly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in a regional language (e.g. Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Bahasa) is highly regarded.

Technical Expertise:

  • 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise software or SaaS projects, ideally in Professional Services (PS) or System Integration (SI) environments.
  • Hands-on experience in enterprise backup and recovery software, ideally with Commvault (Professional or Master-level certifications preferred).
  • Strong understanding of networking, storage systems, and Linux OS administration.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, iSCSI, SCSI, and Fibre Channel technologies.
  • Proficiency in protecting cloud services such as Microsoft 365, Oracle, SAP HANA, and major public clouds (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of object storage, data archive/search, as well as virtualisation and container platforms (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes).
  • Ability and experience to script in Linux and automate routine tasks (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation) for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Exposure to data security, cyber resilience, and cloud compliance is a strong advantage.

Other:

Flexibility to travel across the Asia region (e.g. ASEAN, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea) as required.
