The Opportunity:

The Center of Excellence (CoE) Inside Sales Engineer (ISE) role at Commvault is designed for a technically skilled and customer-focused professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This position plays a key role in supporting global pre-sales initiatives for the US market — driving Proofs of Concept (POCs), demonstrations, and technical solutioning remotely. The role requires a strong foundation in backup, recovery, and cloud technologies, along with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. As part of Commvault’s commitment to innovation and inclusion, the CoE ISE will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences while growing their own technical and professional expertise within a world-class organization.

Who you are ?

  • Provide remote pre-sales support to Sales Engineering Managers and Sales Engineers in the US market, primarily focused on Proofs of Concept (POCs) and demonstrations.
  • Support additional pre-sales activities including documentation, diagram creation, requirements gathering, and research.
  • Offer technical support to the remote Sales Engineering team, maintaining excellence and urgency in opportunity development and execution.
  • Propose and demonstrate Commvault solutions virtually using digital tools such as presentations, demos, and whiteboarding sessions.
  • Supervise customer software or SaaS pilots and proof-of-concepts.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather detailed technical and business requirements for POCs.
  • Coordinate timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure smooth POC execution.
  • Implement and manage POC environments, conduct demonstrations, and guide clients through the solution evaluation process.
  • Resolve technical challenges promptly to maintain customer confidence and trust.
  • Prepare clear and concise documentation summarizing POC outcomes and their alignment with success criteria.
  • Present findings to internal and external stakeholders, highlighting the solution’s value and return on investment (ROI).
  • Continuously enhance technical and market expertise through ongoing learning, certifications, and professional development.

What you’ll be doing..,

  • 5+ years of hands on experience in backup and recovery solutions with a Focus on any one or more Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and GCP
  • Ideally in a customer facing role to present, demonstrate, delivering a pilot or PoC. Prior experience with US based Customers would be an add-on.
  • Excellent communication skills (English) both written and verbal. Proficient in making & articulating Powerpoint decks.
  • Specialized Hands on in Configuration and troubleshooting level Knowledge on Networking, Storage Systems, Hypervisors and container solutions such as VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV , Kubernetes , Openstack, Openshift, Cloud Platforms such as Azure and AWS IaaS , SaaS and PaaS and Databases such as MSSQL, MYSQL, Oracle, SAP, PostgreSQL , MongoDB, etc.
  • Strong understanding of technology and cybersecurity basics, computer networking fundamentals, OSI layers, OSI layer protocols, Active directory& DNS basics, TCP, UDP. Prior knowledge on data recovery and backup fundamentals/solutions would be an add on.
  • Proficiency in on-boarding Applications and configuring backup and storage systems such as, Commvault, Dell, NetApp, and Pure Storage.
  • Proficiency in deploying and configuring Operating systems such as Linux and Windows Server platforms
  • Strong understanding of data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a Data Protection Product Company is a plus
  • Experience working in a ticketing system such as D365 CRM , Salesforce etc.
  • Ability to build and maintain business relationships.
  • An ability to demonstrate an understanding of the sales cycle
  • Must be willing to work in US Shift, typically between 8 PM to 5 AM IST
  • Relevant Industry certification(s), cloud as a preference.
