Systems/Network Engineer

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role 

The Hybrid Systems and Network Engineer at Compass Health Center is responsible for developing and maintaining the computing systems used to deliver our clinical care and its increased reliance on technology, as well as helping execute Compass’s technology strategy as it relates to the safety and security of our network and related systems. This position will report to our Director of Information Technology.

Our dedicated operations teams work behind the scenes to bring our shared mission to life. Each department delivers their own set of strengths which empower our clinicians to focus on their expertise, and ultimately perform the meaningful work that we do.

*This is a Hybrid position that will require 2 days in office at our Northbrook location and 3 days work from home*

What You'll Do:

  • Provide level 2 and 3 support for multiple technologies, primarily: Microsoft Windows servers; Microsoft Exchange 2019, Endpoint Security, Office 365, and Windows 10.
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Azure (compute, storage, database, load balancing).
  • Administration of VMWare vSphere 6.7 infrastructure including - hardware installations, software server deployments, systems updates, and Veeam backup & replication.
  • Administration, support, and configuration of SharePoint Enterprise.
  • Provide level 2 and 3 support for Active Directory, Single Sign-On, certificate authentication, and mobile device management.
  • Assist the Network Engineer in managing company LANs, WANs, wireless, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN.
  • Work with the network engineer to manage all aspects of our Meraki network, including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor real-time network performance and logs to assure optimum performance
  • Assist in the management and implementation of Network Security Policies, Monitoring Tools and Network troubleshooting, both remote and onsite.
  • Perform daily network maintenance and problem resolution with documentation for future reference.
  • Monitor network performance ensures capacity planning is performed and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement
  • Administer and maintain DNS and DNS Security.
  • Assist in management of Security Appliances - IDS/IPS, Spam/Content Filters, etc.
  • Systems Experience will be a plus, including Microsoft based technologies, public/private cloud, and virtualization technologies. (VMWare ESX Hypervisor, Windows Server Platforms, etc.)

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable.
  • Systems:
    • Experience deploying and administrating Azure resources.
    • 5+ years proven work experience administering Microsoft Office Online/Office 365 environments.
    • Experience with Single Sign On identity and authentication systems, such as Azure AD, ADFS, or SAML.
    • Experience with automation tools and scripting, including PowerShell.
    • Knowledge and experience administering Exchange Online, Teams, Mobile Device Management, and OneDrive.
    • Knowledge and some experience in power platforms and automation flows.
    • Experience administrating, maintaining, and monitoring Active Directory, group policy, DHCP, and DNS in an enterprise environment.
    • 3+ years of hands-on and working knowledge experience with VMWare platform.
    • Advanced proficiency with vSphere, vSAN, vCloud Director, and other VMware products and platforms.
    • Preferred professional IT certifications, such as: MCSA, MS 365 Administrator Expert, Azure Administrator Associate
    • Linux knowledge/experience is a plus.
  • Network:
    • 2+ years of experience with network planning, design, and implementing mission-critical LAN, WAN, network security, and wireless network infrastructures.
    • 2+ years of hands-on and working knowledge experience with firewalls, proxies, routers, switches, and WAN connectivity.
    • 2+ years of hands-on experience with setting up networks and network security within Microsoft and/or AWS cloud platforms preferred.
    • Experience with medium to large enterprises with multiple remote locations.
    • Experience with cloud-based (Azure) networking and security solutions.
    • Strong ability to clearly document system design elements including the use of appropriate documentation tools.
    • Preferred: professional IT certifications, such as: CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network +

This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, your years of experience, type of experience, location, and education/certifications. Compensation

$85,000 - $105,000 USD
