Overview

The Associate Director, Digital Business Strategy and Innovation  is responsible for developing and executing business strategies to achieve Digital Marketplace' revenue generation goals through commercialization of research assets and innovation advisory services. This role oversees the analysis, packaging and promotion of proprietary data and insights to industry stakeholders. It also entails shaping new service offerings that responsibly translate independent research into market solutions. 

Under our CRFlex program, this position is eligible for Fully Remote status for candidates who live more than 75 miles from one of our main office locations (Yonkers, NY, Washington DC, Colchester, CT). Additionally, the successful candidate must reside in one of the following locations: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Texas, Vermont, Washington D.C.

How you'll make an Impact:

As an Associate Director, Digital Business Strategy and Innovation you will:

  • Lead development of advisory services for Digital Marketplace testing and standards
  • Commercialize CR's research assets and testing frameworks
  • Build partnerships with financial institutions and tech companies
  • Create sustainable revenue streams through responsible innovation
  • Support AI assessment framework development and adoption
  • Develop business models that align with CR's consumer advocacy mission
  • Identify companies, assets, or technologies that align with enterprise growth objectives and qualitatively assess for financial attractiveness, operational viability, consumer appeal, and fit with organization’s mission and values. This could include partnership opportunities, acquisitions, and white label programs.
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, and untapped opportunities and analyze data and industry insights to inform product decisions and ensure the products meet customer demands and market requirements.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify growth opportunities in different sectors or regions that align with enterprise capabilities and strategic plans.
  • Lead cross-functional product ideation and conceptualization efforts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate concepts, assess feasibility, and create viable product roadmaps.
  • Create business and go to market plans and help develop and implement market pilots. For opportunities that go to market,  serve as the initiative owner to ensure the new product/service gets the championship and nurturing it needs during launch.

You’ll Be Highly Rated If:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or related field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years combined experience in program management, product management, and partnership roles with a track record of revenue generation
  • Demonstrated skill in evaluating markets, developing business cases, and launching products and services
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships with industry leaders
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of human-centered design and ability to apply those principles to responsible innovation
  • Understanding of principles related to privacy, transparency, bias prevention and mitigation in data practices and AI systems
  • Passionate about marketplace innovation and its impact on consumers
  • Sees and leverages connections and interdependencies by breaking down silos, seeking feedback, and promoting  collaboration and inclusion
  • Actively addresses issues and challenges by encouraging candid discussion, building common understanding, and gaining agreement.
  • Responds quickly with course corrections based on CR’s best interests.
  • Expresses an unpopular point of view when necessary for the good of the enterprise.
  • Inspires others to embrace and lead change, gains commitment to the change vision, and clearly communicates the desired future state

Fair Pay & A Just WorkPlace

At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $165k to $180k. This posted range is reflective of the NY/CA market. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
