Shipping Tech - Entry Level

Location: Parachute, CO

Summary: As a Shipping Tech at our Parachute, CO facility, you will be responsible for overseeing the packaging and load-out processes. This includes operating conveyors, packaging equipment, and motorized vehicles, as well as managing computer systems and paperwork. Your role is crucial in ensuring that products meet quality specifications and customer requirements. This entry-level position requires attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and the capability to perform routine inspections and maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate loading equipment such as belt conveyors and platform scales for railcars and trucks.
  • Maintain and operate automated bagging equipment for product packaging.
  • Operate forklifts and other mobile equipment for loading trailers and railcars.
  • Conduct inspections of railcars and monitor yard inventory levels.
  • Coordinate movements of railcars and work with logistics on inventory and orders.
  • Perform SAP data entry for batch creation and shipment documentation.
  • Conduct weekly warehouse inventory to reconcile with SAP data.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment in various plant areas, maintaining detailed records.
  • Obtain samples for quality control and manage necessary computer transactions.
  • Maintain logs of process changes and equipment malfunctions.
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance and participate in process improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct pre-screening on food-grade materials and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Perform tasks while wearing protective equipment, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned under the supervision of a qualified technician.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift, including weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required, including being on call.
  • Capability to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Basic understanding of SAP or similar data entry systems is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
