Summary
Using industry-standard testing tools and practices, this position ensures that internal and external applications and products meet customer specifications. Collaborates with the Testing team to develop and implement quality assurance and testing standards within the area of responsibility. This includes both manual and automated testing strategies, and leading less senior resources in applying quality assurance for software applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and establish quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications/products and enhance existing applications throughout the development/product lifecycle.
- Review current automation testing capabilities and practices, and develop new automation strategies to increase automation test coverage.
- Mentor other testing resources in best practices.
- Analyze project documentation and technical specifications to create testing documentation and understand products/projects.
- Collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing methods, including system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing.
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives addressing existing and potential software defects in IT systems and projects across the organization.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the IT organization.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to assess applications/systems and ensure they meet customer requirements.
- Define test objectives, write test plans and test cases, and develop test scripts.
- Execute manual and automated test scripts.
- Coordinate activities for defect tracking and resolution, and analyze performance/stress testing results.
- Coordinate testing resources across multiple projects and provide assistance for junior team members.
- Maintain ongoing communication with leadership and training staff to ensure effective and efficient use of application systems.
- Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project managers.
- Create User Stories and Task Flows and participate in Agile Scrum sessions.
- Perform other duties as assigned, with regular and reliable attendance required.
- Work under periodic evening and weekend schedules, sitting for extended periods, and operating computer components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense background investigation.
- 5 years of experience in quality assurance/software testing or related field.
- Experience with automated test tools like Katalon, TOSCA, and Selenium.
- Experience developing and documenting test cases in Xray, ALM, or JIRA.
- Experience establishing quality assurance measures and testing standards.
- Familiarity with Agile project methodology.
- 1+ years of experience automating Web-based applications and APIs with TOSCA.
- 3+ years of experience working with Jenkins and CI/CD tools.
- 3+ years of experience testing ETL, writing SQL statements, and executing them.
- Preferred: 7+ years of experience in quality assurance/software testing or related field.
- Preferred: Experience in the Health Care Industry.
- Preferred: Experience developing and documenting test strategies.
- Preferred: Experience with AngularJS and Java languages.
