Payroll Manager – International & Domestic Operations

North America

Towards the end of our interview process is an in-person interview.

Do you want to help make the world safe from cyber attack?

At Corelight, we believe that the best approach to cybersecurity risk starts with the network. Attackers can evade endpoint detection, firewalls and many other technologies - but they can’t avoid leaving digital footprints on the networks they traverse. Built on open-source innovations from Zeek, Suricata and YARA and refined through years of real-world use, Corelight transforms network footprints from physical, virtual and cloud networks into actionable insights. Our customers use these insights to speed incident response and proactively hunt for threats.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead our global payroll function across multiple countries and jurisdictions. This role will oversee the management of payroll operations via various third-party payroll providers, Employer of Record (EOR) partners, and outsourced firms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of both U.S. and international payroll practices, including tax implications related to non-qualified stock options, and will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timeliness of payroll activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations across multiple countries using third-party vendors, EORs, and outsourced payroll service providers.
  • Administer U.S. payroll through Paylocity and coordinate with global payroll partners to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Manage all aspects of 401(k) audits, workers’ compensation audits, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure correct taxation and reporting of equity compensation.
  • Partner with Finance and HR teams to reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts in NetSuite.
  • Own relationships with key platforms including Paylocity, Fidelity (401k), and NetSuite, ensuring effective system integration and reporting.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international payroll regulations and U.S. tax compliance.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for all payroll-related inquiries and escalations. Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance payroll operations, data integrity, and employee experience.
  • Support Accounting in month-end close duties related to Payroll.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Work closely with HR and Finance to coordinate employee benefits, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Process year-end reports including W-2s, 1099s, and other required tax filings.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of payroll experience, including international payroll and working with EORs and third-party payroll providers.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state payroll tax laws, including those related to equity transactions (NSO, ISO, etc).
  • Proven experience leading 401(k) and workers’ compensation audits.
  • Hands-on experience with Paylocity, Fidelity, and NetSuite.
  • Experience managing payroll in a high-growth, multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; CPP certification is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience integrating payroll systems with accounting platforms.
  • Familiarity with payroll operations across EMEA, APAC, and US regions.
  • Demonstrated success managing payroll through organizational change or scaling phases.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
