About the Role
Our Accounting team is growing, and we are seeking a highly skilled and qualified International Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the accounting operations of our global entities. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with international accounting standards, managing foreign currency and intercompany transactions, and coordinating with external auditors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS, intercompany operational accounting, multinational tax issues, and the consolidation process. As our first dedicated international accounting hire, you’ll play a key role in scaling our international accounting operations and managing and ensuring the accuracy of financial data, which is essential for driving the company’s growth.

What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage the accounting operations for international subsidiaries, including month-end close, international bank account reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements in all jurisdictions.
- Coordinate the preparation of international entities for group consolidation into the corporate financial statements.
- Manage and maintain accurate foreign currency accounting, including translation and revaluation activities.
- Oversee international tax compliance, VAT/international tax filings, and transfer pricing accounting and documentation in partnership with tax advisors.
- Own the global subsidiary statutory audit process, working closely with external auditors during global audits and facilitate the preparation of required documentation.
- Support the implementation of new accounting systems and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay updated on changes in international accounting standards and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting guidance and company policies
What You’ll Need
- 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in an international or multinational environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience in month-end close procedures and reporting, including journal entry creation, intercompany transactions and consolidation, and financial statement fluctuation analysis.
- Experience with international tax regulations and filings and global statutory audits.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, and/or other major global accounting standards.
- Proficiency in NetSuite and Excel
- Ability to demonstrate ownership and multi-task skills, strong problem-solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- High level of integrity, positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and desire to collaborate with others.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across cultures and departments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Worked asynchronously as part of a fully-remote, distributed team

Compensation
We offer competitive compensation packages commensurate with experience, including salary, equity, and where applicable, performance-based pay. Our Talent Acquisition Team can answer questions around dbt Lab’s total rewards during your interview process.
The typical starting salary range for this role is:
- €89,000 to €108,000 EUR
