The Opportunity:

Definian Data LLC and its subsidiary PIE Data Specialists Pvt Ltd have the need for an Accounts Payable Associate on the Finance team.  

In this role, you will report to the Accounting Manager (US) and work closely with the Senior Staff Accountant (India) as a crucial role to provide accurate and timely financial processing. The Accounts Payable Associate is expected to maintain internal controls and support for financial transactions.

 

Work location: Hybrid, based in Mumbai.

Work hours: Partial overlap with US normal business hours.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate with all departments on payables and expenses
  • Monitor payables email inboxes for US and India
  • Invoice approvals, entry, and coding for multiple entities in financial system
  • Vendor statement reconciliations
  • Review support for corporate credit cards to ensure compliance to policies
  • Review weekly expense reimbursements to ensure compliance to policies
  • Expense report entry and coding in financial system
  • Daily application of bank activities to financial system
  • Coordinate support for India accountants
  • Assist with monthly financial close by providing support as requested
  • Assist with financial, insurance, tax and other audits and engagements
  • Note: The responsibilities for this position could expand to include other duties based on the needs of the company and the skills of the candidate.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting or business
  • 1–2 years of relevant accounts payable experience preferred
  • Strong spreadsheet skills, including Vlookup, Xlookup, and Pivot tables
  • Basic knowledge of GST and TDS compliance and filing requirements
  • Familiarity with financial systems (Intacct and Tally preferred) and MS Office applications
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent written/verbal English communication skills
  • A self-starter mentality with ability to work with minimal supervision and utilize independent judgment
  • Problem-solving skills with a drive to implement continuous improvements
